Super happy!
I am super happy with this semi-permanent hair color. My goal is to grow out my gray underneath the semi permanent color so that I can one day wash out the color completely and see what’s going on there and then either have fun with semi permanent color or if I’m lazy or too old to care just let it go. I’m sorry about not posting a picture, but I’d rather not have my images on Amazon. Out of laziness I have been coloring my hair dark golden blonde with permanent color just so that the gray regrowth is less noticeable and I don’t have to color it the second it comes in. It’s been okay but I have felt a little washed out and I don’t like that red thing that happens at the roots when you lift to a couple shades lighter than your natural color. I think I’ve found the answer with using a combination of Rich Walnut and Golden Chestnut of this hair color. I start by using Rich Walnut on about the first inch of hair growth from my scalp. I do all of my roots this way and then using a gloved hand I put some Rich Walnut hair color and work it into the full length of just the darkest part of my hair in the back, underneath the hair that shows from the top. I am very careful to not put the Rich walnut on the top hairs – I want to keep them lighter. Then I work the Golden Chestnut into the rest of my hair, sometimes mixing a little Rich Walnut into it before applying it. I just make sure I have my whole hair saturated with the Golden Chestnut before starting the clock. It comes out beautifully! The roots are darker but it looks rich and natural – it’s kind of like adding low lights I guess. This method avoids that weird red roots issue but still gives you the lightness on top, like you’ve had highlights done. The transition from the dark to light color is very natural too, not abrupt. These particular colors are warm colors so if your skin can’t take a warm color this probably won’t work well, but for me it’s perfect. I really couldn’t be happier. I haven’t gone through a whole color cycle yet time wise. I bathe more often but I wash my hair 2x per week. I wash my hair now in the sink in cold water (no way I’m taking a cold shower haha) with sulfate free shampoo and the color is holding well, fading as expected but at a nice slow pace. This is the first semi permanent hair color that has stayed in my hair for more than a couple of washes. I am very, very happy.

So good for hair
Sandy blonde is a new color, NO RED!! I love clairol advance grey semi permanent color since I perm my hair. So.much better than chemical colors. Also great is with no processing you can reuse bottle a few times.

No harsh ammonia, but not great for resistant gray hair
Easy to apply squeeze directly from the bottle and work through damp hair. No developer or mixing needed. Gentle formula It’s ammonia-free and peroxide-free, using “Advanced O₂ Technology” to develop color with air, which helps minimize damage and dryness. Adds shine & feels conditioning Good between salon colorings Goo to use it as a refresh or touch-up product when between permanent treatments. Affordable Priced low compared with salon and permanent hair dye Gray coverage varies Fades fairly quickly Because it’s semi-permanent, color will gradually fade — typically within up to ~12 shampoos — and may need reapplication to maintain coverage. Not ideal for resistant gray Very coarse or stubborn gray strands find it doesn’t fully cover or the gray comes back quickly. Instructions and timing Directions are a bit vague

Perfect Hair Color Maintenance Solution
In my opinion, this is the perfect maintenance solution. But, I highly suggest, if possible, to visit a Sally's beauty supply to see hair swatch in person because in my opinion, the color chart both on Sally's website and Amazon not as accurate. Easy application. No mixing, straight out of the bottle. Buy gloves as this is color only not full coloring kit. If you have permanent salon color and need maintenance in between visits this is good solution. If you are like me that got tired of the highlights for gray blending, the damaged hair, the yellow/orangey/brassy color as color fades then this is a great healthier alternative. My experience with B13W Medium Warm Brown. My hair was a faded shade of brown with some brassiness from previous salon color, my roots were a mix of natural dark brown with gray. Wish I would have taken a before picture, but I was eager to color since I waited until December 24th to color. My salon treated hair got darker with the warm brown tone. My darker roots actually picked up color nicely and my grays were lighter but altogether was great blend. Final color in my opinion had a hint of red undertone, but I like it and it was probably because of what was already in my hair. As of today, January 9th, I have washed my hair at least 5 times and color still looking decent. Starting to see some gray growth and fading around edges of face but that's to be expected from washing face and scrubbing makeup off. For me this is best and healthiest solution as it saves me money and hours in salon. My goal is to grow out my natural hair and since this washes out in time, I think it will help in between hair cuts until I decide what to do with grays. Just a side note, because my grays can be stubborn, I did not follow suggested time on bottle instructions and I actually left on for a little over an hour. I will include a photo of hair as of January 9th, please note, I just slathered it on and didn't take time to do sections. Next time I won't rush. Remember to shampoo and wash hair first then apply to towel dried hair and after time is up, rinse hair. I bought a packet of Ion after color sealer at Sally Beauty Supply to apply after rinsing instead of regular conditioner.

Green and Damaging
I've used this product several times over the past 3 years and have been happy with the pigments in addition to the moisturization. However, it definitely seems that Clairol has altered their formula, and the end result is extremely disappointing. I used 7n, which I noticed had an unappealing green hue to it when I was washing out my coloring bowl during processing. It was a very poo-colored greenish brown. After rinsing out per the instructions, I gently blow dried my hair only to find it too had turned this putrid shade of green. Not only that, but my hair was as dry as straw. I have NEVER had this experience with the color before, and given I ordered two bottles on two separate days, I will not accept this was a one-off batch error. I've counted on the Beautiful Collection to be a non-damaging, hydrating alternative to permanent dyes, but this was absolutely my last time using this line of colors.

Works well covering grays
This worked well covering the gray on my head. Not so good for the gray in my beard. 5 stars for of ease of use and how well it worked on my heads hair.

Didn't deposit very much color on post-chemo hair
Toasted hazelnut left me with a strawberry brassy blondish color on my silver, post-chemo grow in hair. Followed all directions, but left on 5 minutes longer than it said. No conditioner to get between it and the color, hair was completely damp as recommended. Not terrible since it's only 3/4 of an inch long but not ideal. Another brand of just more temporary wash in/wash out color in brown also just gave me blonde but it was a nice wheat blonde - back to that I guess.

Perfect shadow root!!! Buy!!
I wish I would have discovered this a decade ago. It’s a temporary shadow root perfect for very grey hair that you don’t want to get too dark with frequent root recoloring. Also cheaper and did not stain. Highly highly recommend
