I bought this as an alternative to the more expensive Reserva Exclusiva and was not disappointed. Mantuano has a lovely smooth flavour with just the right balance of sweetness and spice. On the nose you get caramel and vanilla with a hint of dried fruit. The first sip brings out notes of brown sugar, raisins and a touch of oak which makes it feel warm and rounded without being too heavy. It is not as sweet or syrupy as the Reserva which actually makes it more versatile. This is a bottle you can happily sip neat or over ice, but it also works brilliantly in cocktails. I’ve used it in an Old Fashioned, a simple rum and cola and even a daiquiri and it holds its flavour well without being overpowering. The finish is smooth with a little spice that lingers nicely. At this price point it is hard to beat. It feels like a premium rum without the premium cost. If you are new to sipping rums this is a great place to start, and if you are already a fan it makes a perfect “house” bottle to keep on hand. It might lack some of the complexity of higher-end rums but for everyday enjoyment it is superb.

This is hands-down one of the best spirits I’ve tried. The flavor is smooth and well-balanced, with just the right mix of warmth and depth. You can really taste the quality in every sip — it’s clear that a lot of care went into the craftsmanship.

Normally but the normal diplomatico but this is a welcomed change and much cheaper. If you like the OG you will alo like this.

Excellent Rum , very smooth lots of flavours , hints of caramel and citrus

Taste so good, I kept sipping on the evening. It could be used for cocktails, I'm sure, but enjoyed on its own.

Bought on behalf of a relative, but from what i've heard from them, some of the best rum they've ever tasted, I;ve had since ordered again for them! A must try apparently!
