Pleased with this
had always toyed with a vacuum sealer, and so took the plunge with this. Works great! seals bags well, does have good suction to create a good vacuum. its not too big so easy to store in the cupboard. seems solid enough and i think for the action it performs the speed is pretty good.if you are unsure, i think this is a good starting point!

It's cheap, but it works. Not too sure how long it would last though.
I bought this as a "stopgap" machine after the sealer on my much more expensive Foodsaver version failed - and since the spare won't be here for a month, I needed something cheap quickly. And this is cheap - you know that, you've seen the price. At it looks cheap, and feels cheap. Four buttons, four lights, two locking latches to hold everything tight. It even comes with bag stock, a cutter, and a spare sealing ring! And it works: seal the end of the roll, cut to length (though the cutter is rather nasty and only works left-to-right). Fill the bag, put the open end in the machine and push hard on both sides to lock the latches. Press the "Seal Vac" button and of it goes. It's quiet enough, quick enough, and it seals the bag pretty well. Release the latches when the "Seal" light blinks, and you're done. And there it ends ... or it would if it wasn't for a major concern - longevity.I get through £40 to £50 a year of bag stock - and that's bulk buying 12 rolls at a time from an industrial supplier. And this unit won;y work with my bags. They are too thick, or too deeply embossed, I don't know for sure. But you seal a bag bottom, fill it, put it in this and press the button and it stays on "suck" forever because the vacuum seal isn't tight enough and air "bleeds" in round the bag. It works fine with the bag sample they give you, but ... I have no idea where you can buy bag stock like this - it feels a little thinner than mine, and the embossing is finer, not so deep. But I've never seen "thickness" or "embossing depth" quoted on blurb for bag stock, so it could well be that when you run out of the sample you will be right out of luck.I found a way to use it with mine: a sink of water; quickly stop the vacuum and press "seal" but it means it leaks some air back into the bag. It'll do for a month, but it's not going to preserve food as well as my (much more expensive) unit does.Executive summary: It works, but if you can afford it, you will be better off with a more expensive version.

Excellent vacuum sealer, seems to be very sturdy, easy to use and reasonably compact. Would recommend.

Okay, I admit it, I'm a convert.
This was originally purchased to try sous vide cooking. We had some success with that, but the buzz wore off after reading that some tougher cuts than fillet would be sitting in a water bath for days. Urgh, give me a break.Anyway, I've come to LOVE this machine for marinaded meat and for prepping for the freezer. Why didn't I get one years ago? Doh! I cook up in large batches, then portion up and freeze. I no longer need a cupboard full of plastic tubs, so I save space in both the cupboard and the freezer. An A4 pouch cut in half and resealed makes two adult sized portion packs. Dining with family or dining alone, I can get out just the right amount. No more orange-stained tubs from Indian or Italian food. The machine is really easy to use. There's plenty of suction to really vacuum out dry portions, and it's controllable enough to get sauces sealed with the minimum of trapped air. This might not be what I originally planned, but it has worked out so well. I'm really pleased with how the product helps me in the kitchen. It's definitely recommended.

Brilliant
I love it. Been wanting to get one for ages now. and saw this one at a great price. So I got it.Fast delivery. So easy to use. Good instructions.I have a dog who has cooked chicken with her dinner so I can now portion it up,for the week. With the suction and seal function, it last longer and have no waist. Also less space taken up in freezer or fridge.Would I recommend you to buy it. YES

DON’T BOTHER BUYING THIS. You will thank me!
What a waste of time, money and frustration, yes it was cheap and yes I thought let’s give it a go, yes I read all the reviews and yes all the negative ones are true, it’s a shame that we waste money on such things but I have limited space in the my kitchen at home and thought this would be ok where you can just place in a drawer and use from time to time.. I’m a chef of over 35 years and I use professional vac pack machines at work such as Multivac and turbo vac and I brought a couple of vac pack bags home to try out as you only get a couple “5” in the purchased Box… but my bags did not work as the element gets too hot and simply melts and lets all the air out.. I now need to look for something better and spend more money but I’m pretty sure that this particular brand will still not deliver the service required for a bigger and more expensive model.Maybe something for you to think about and not produce cheap rubbish plastic that will only end up in land fill….
