Bought this because the barstools I bought from Wayfair, of course came with missing pieces so I ordered this from Amazon and it ended up being the perfect fit. I could care less about it the color not matching, it’s does its job!

Great, works as intended. I used a dead blow hammer to get the main cylinder off of the wheelbase, the inner cylinder connected to the tilt mechanism is a little trickier. Use a pipe wrench to rotate the inner cylinder a quarter inch while holding the main cylinder, it should pop right out. I couldn't force it out and had to look it up so now you don't have to.

This will not work with a Steelcase Leap v1 because the top activation part is too high, so it stays activated and always sinks or raises when sitting or standing. It can be adjusted and installed with the orange part removed, but then the seat is not adjustable without uninstalling it.

Height adjustable

The installation was not as daunting as I expected. Happy to have had a piece of pipe to put onto my pipe wrench . That helped a lot in removing the old cylinder . This new one has a very good looking chrome finish that replaced the old black one. Smooth motion in changing heights. Looking forward to years of good use.
