A great resource for marketing and entrepreneurs
Let me start by saying that I have never used Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc.; I have strictly been a Facebook user. Being ‘old school’ and still referring to # as a pound sign and not a hashtag, this book was very intriguing and insightful to me. I love to learn, and this book is invaluable.I have had small business endeavors in the past. I only used a website that I created to market my products or services. I wish I had this book then, but will make use of it now. This workbook is mainly geared towards small businesses and entrepreneurs, but is useful for many other business formats. It helps to understand the social media craze and why/how to get in on this free form of advertising and marketing. The table of contents is set up so that you can easily find the platform you want to start with or use, i.e. Content Marketing, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, to name a few. The author also makes himself available via email to answer student questions and requests feedback for updates to future editions. If you register your book with the link provided, the author also offers other ‘free’ tools, including a .pdf version of the workbook. This is useful to access the many hyperlinks throughout the book. The author discusses the social media formats at great length, includes links, screenshots and details what is successful, and what may not be. He offers great insight into tools that will help promote or expand your business. Many of these, I had never thought of before. The book is straightforward and easy to follow, a lot of step-by-step. A great resource for anyone starting their own business, or looking to expand their market via social media sites. I have thoroughly enjoyed perusing through this workbook. It is very lengthy and I will continue to refer to it. I see it as a helpful tool if hiring marketing personnel, as well.

Great book
Social Media Marketing Workbook is a great addition to any library. Its usefulness is unmatched in today's market of social technology guide books. There's an array of links to help the beginner, novice, or even expert users. Every section lists new details and ideas, links, and processes to ensure you're able to keep up in today's marketing niche Don't be fooled by the idea that it's just another how-to book on social media. This book takes you on an in-depth look at how to market your business or non-profit in the best way that will hopefully lead to greater success than you ever imagined. Not only do you get to learn the skills of marketing all across various social media platforms, you have the option to get certified. Unlike other authors I’ve encountered, this one includes links to a dashboard where you can take advantage of lots of free items, and he also enjoys feedback for grammatical errors in his work. I haven’t encountered any, nor do I have any negative comments towards this book. It has humor, honesty, and education all in one place. A must read for all social media beginners or soon-to-be stars. You also have tasks you can enjoy at your leisure if you so choose, which, to be honest, I didn’t find the need to do so yet. There are quite a few throughout the book, which is great to learn the skills of getting your brand on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc., but it can be overwhelming with so many. I will eventually complete them all, but in due time. Just be aware of the tasks ahead of you and have fun because it truly is a great book.

If you know nothing about using social media for your business, this is the book to read
I myself do not know much about using social media to market a business. This book covers step-by-step instructions on how to set up a page, contents, tying different social media accounts together, search engine optimization, keywords, how to find your reviews, etc. The nice thing about the book is that many of the steps, is that in most all of them the steps are relatively the same, just a slightly different platform. Now I put a simple step to the test. I have been an Avon Rep for years, I have a website but I haven't done much with it until recently. So I decided to create a post that was engaging, asking them to also look at my website to just few the products and asking them to like and share my Facebook post. Then I went to my Instagram page and did the same thing only I tied my Instagram page to my Facebook page. It worked. So now when I post on Instagram it also posts it to my Facebook page. The book explains how to determine content and to make it more engaging that out right asking them to purchase your product or services. It also explains the differences between the major social media platforms. YouTube is a little different in that it mainly is about posting videos, Pinterest the smaller of the group is geared more to women and DIY. Now Facebook and Instagram can do all of those things and more, as were LinkedIn is more about setting up your business profile to network with other businesses and/or finding applicants to fill jobs.All-in-all it is a great book for beginners or technology challenged people who want to use it to promote there business. I will say that, I did not read anywhere in the book on how to make money using these social media platforms, other than the obvious use of keeping your business in front of your family, friends, current and/or potentially new customers. The book is packed with information and instructions, a good social media book.
