The slicer works great for meats, breads, (most) cheeses. I've cut beef jerky with ease compared to the ~100$ range slicers. Would definitely recommend if you want to step up from an entry level slicer. All metal is nice. Cleans relatively easy. Comes with the blade sharpener which is an upgrade.

Huge package received. Nice big heavy machine. Sure I can finally get my bresaola cut shaved thin. Exciting. Take the machine out. Follow instructions PRECISELY. Treat the machine very respectfully. Wearing cut-resistant gloves, try to get the blade out to clean before the first use. The blade is being held by three screws. Two of them come out normally, one is SO incredibly tight that there's no way to take out without stripping. Working on it for an hour. Frustration. Trying again next morning. Unable to get it to work, so I pack it in the original box, NEVER used, and mail it back. I get from another, honest seller, a slightly smaller machine, worth about one hundred bucks, works perfectly (DREAM thin shaved prosciutto and more), a piece of cake to clean and reassemble. Once return for the defective KWS item is finally processed, I notice the dishonest seller withdrew a big chunk of the refund! For a defficient item returned in ORIGINAL condition, within a few days!! They claim to be a "small business". Well, perhaps, hard as it is to buy that claim. You should prefer a FUNCTIONAL item.

Due to high food prices, I started to make my own cold cuts, and needed quality meat slicer, cuts: shavings, thin , medium, thick slices and everything in between.Easy to clean , easy to use .

so the first one came all scratched up , why, stupid packing, what an AWESOME product, I had to return forand exchange not a refund, hell no I want this bad boy, please someone learn how to pack the slicer, I dida better job when I sent it back, so unnecessary, wasted money,time , great customer service, maybe theyshould pack it, the other things you have read , " the edges are sharp" yes, lazy production work, other thanthat looks great, heavy as hell, does not move around, don't buy one with suction cups , cheap,cheap,cheapthey blamed it on the shipper, but after opening it was whoever packed it, shut-up do it right,your fired..

The media could not be loaded.  A. Unit is does not sot flat and the feet are not adjustable so it teeters on my counter and glass top stove. I've shaped feet around to no sucxess Very frustrating.B. Finish of the cast guard around the blade is raw casting and very rough prone to hold food and be hard to clean.Lastly, and the final stray, what are there exposed bolt heads in the guide/back plate. Right were your food is sliding back and forth on there are ressessed screws with exposed threads, this will be a nightmare to clean and will constantly be unsanitary. This is unacceptable. The bolts should have come through from the back and left the main meat guiding surface without crevices.

It is a heavy machine, which is good, has a powerful motor, good blade. It looks well built and made with good materials.I have tried all kinds of foods, soft or hard. It cut all fast and very acurate. The slice thickness setting works great.

I just purchased this machine from KWS and the experience with the seller has been good; however, the slicer is definitely not a quality or precision product like Globe or Berkel.The unit has more hardware (screws & bolts) attachments than other brands which are welded connections.The blade guard requires a Philips head screwdriver to remove, ideally the main components that need to be cleaned after each use should be removable by hand and not with tools.There were some deep scratches in the unit upon unboxing.The most disappointing thing about the unit that I received is that it is not level...this is frustrating. The unit wobbles unless I put something under one of the feet.I may have finally learned my lesson on this purchase. Hope this is helpful to others.
