Q: How does the handle feel, design doesn’t look appealing but is it a good grip? Solid construction?

The grip is great wet or dry. It does look kind of off on the screen but in person it fits well and is comfortable. It's fairly solid construction. No issues yet, good ergonomic grip not like some machetes or long knives with the small more accented "grip" that feels like you are grabbing a chunk of plastic.

Q: Could I use a whetstone to sharpen it?

Yes you can use a whetstone 100%. I prefer a rod type because of curve in blade. Diamond rod ... Probably best option... just my opinion.

Q: Is this a forged/hardened blade or just a machete ?

It's neither. It's not forged, it's a stock removal mass-produced blade. And it's not a machete, it's a kukri, much different blade shape. It is hardened, as all finished knives are.

Q: Is the blade manufactured in China?

Yes however, not everything from overseas is garbage. It’s a quality blade.
