I really like this in dark brown. I use boxed dye over gray and it tends to fade weird (on the greenish side). Instead of toning it or coloring it more often (causing damage from more chemicals) this spray takes care of that and covers my gray roots also. However, I found that if I use gloves and spray it on my glove then run it through the roots it covers better than just spraying directly. For all over color spraying is fine but to pinpoint the roots the gloves work better for me. The sprayer is still strong but not nearly as powerful as L’Oréal. I didn’t like that about L’Oréal bc you have to hold it at just the right angle and distance from your hair or I’d get weird patchy areas I’d have to try to brush out. It’s also better than powders because the powders mattify my hair then I have to add shine back into it. I have tried quite a few powders and they all seem to make my hair look dull. This sprayer is a bit more forgiving. There’s no red in it. It’s a true dark brown. It works to cover faded areas and for grays. I finally found my cover up product! I will definitely buy this again. I will mention though, for anyone who has never used these types of root cover ups, you don’t want to scratch your head or you’ll get the ever under your fingernails. Also, it’s going to leave a ring around your tub. I’ve just gotten into the habit of washing the tub out after every bath. Still worth it though. I have not noticed any color on my pillowcase but have dark colored sheets. The his happens with all of them. No getting around it, unfortunately.

The good thing about this product is the spray mode, easier to apply. I had a lot expectations after reading the reviews but it was the same than L’Oréal and others, probably it will be good only for the roots but not for larger areas. They said that it won’t make your hair stiff but it’s not true .
