Aesthetics aside it does a great job fixing ball marks.
The Mark Mender works very well. It would be better if there was a stronger magnet holding the ball marker, or a different design to hold the marker. My only other suggestion would be if they had offered more color options when I ordered. The only available option was green with a St. Patricks Day motif which I think looks kind of corny and the ball marker blends in too well on a green. Aesthetics aside it does a great job fixing ball marks.June 13, 2015. I'm changing this review to 3 stars. The mark mender works very well with a slight learning curve. Be certain to push the prongs all the way into the ground. This gives you maximum leverage on the squeeze pivot point and and a better, easier outcome. The design of the ball marker never did work for me. It would fall off inside my golf bag, pocket etc. It always needed to be managed until it got lost and I don't miss it! I will continue to carry the mender for fixings ball marks as it works well.

Something falls right next to it like a magnet
Delivery A+Product Exterior - A ( or I wouldn't have ordered it****used this 'product' on a Thursday the very next day I go play, pull out the Ol' 'product' out of my pocket then my very next move was to use the marker.... Something falls right next to it like a magnet, silver... I say to myself I know this isn't for my new 'product'.... Yep turns out the magnet holds the marker in place was taped to the 'product' itself. No use whatsoever now.***making matters worse I ordered an extra one for my friend at the club and if his does what mine did I can only say "what did I do to deserve this? Lol"Honestly the product could've been good giving my cigar clamp a run for its money but gave way too early. This 'product' in my opinion is only as effective of the Marker that is why it would be used (50%)... I hope mine was the only defective one so no one else experiences this..

No stress repair tool... And a conversation starter.
Let me start by saying I'm a not so great golfer! Being a total novice, I get anxious about so many aspects of the game... Am I going to look like a fool whine I hit the ball? Am I going to break some bit of golf etiquette? Am I going to be super slow and make my partners angry? This handy little tool alleviates one such bit of worry for me: am I going to break the roots on the green by using the traditional repair tool wrong? This makes it so easy! I also like that I can use it to prop up the handle of my putter while I'm chipping (or vice versa) and the green is dewy.Another bonus? Just about everybody I play with asks to try it and walks away wanting one. Even my husband, a much better golfer than I, tried mine, loved it, and wanted one for himself. In fact, he's purchased quite a few as gifts for others.Terrific product.. Just wish it was a bit less pricey.

OK but could be better.
the mark mender works well on the greens, but the retaining loop that keeps it together is flimsy and hard to use. The ball marker fell off before I even got to use it because either the magnet is too weak or there isn't enough steel in the marker for it to stay on.

Incredible purchasing experience
I purchased a Markmender divot tool about a week and a half before Christmas. I waited a few days for it to arrive and was upset to have it arrive with a broken prong. Thankfully, Markmender sends you a small sheet with return information, as well as an email address that you can send any information to. I sent them an email letting them know that the tool had arrived broken. Within 20 minutes I received and email with an apology and was quickly sent two replacements in time for Christmas. The tool works exactly like it is supposed to, but it is the excellent customer service that will keep my buying the Markmender for all of my golfing friends and family.

There are Better Choices
See my other reviews regarding ball mark repair devices. There are better choices. Used it one time. The concept is correct -- to fill in the mark using surrounding turf vs pulling up from the center. However, the design execution is a bit flawed. Rather than pushing in the surrounding turf to repair the mark, this device pulls at the turf. More often, tears the grass roots and thereby makes grass healing time much longer.

Works as advertised
Performs very well repairing ball marks on the green fine as club grip holder. Only disadvantage is rather heavy weight for pockets.Definitely worth the price.

Also has a great, magnetic ball marker and looks great
This is a quality item and a greenskeeper's dream. You may have heard that you should push the grass in, rather than pull towards you with your divot tool - this does it automatically with one press. Also has a great, magnetic ball marker and looks great. Received lots of comments and been able to educate others on how to fix pitch marks properly as a result. Great item, would be a great gift for a golfer.
