Lovely "quiet" game
There are some great full reviews of this game ou there so I will keep it simple. This game is more of a relaxing experience, it's not about intensity or conflict, its almost zen like, a calm and considered experience. There are some who critique that there is very little strategy to this game but we have found that you need to play a few games before the strategies start to form.My girlfriend loves this game, when I asked her her rating she said 5 without hesitation and we have had fun playing it together. If you like a more intense experience or a game with obvious conflict you may not be so keen.

Great family game - Highly recommend
This game was recommended to me by a friend and is an absolute family hit! It is unusual in that you determine each time what moves you would like to make. The instructions take a while to get your head around but we have played the game loads since Christmas. A game of three players lasts about 30 - 45 minutes so it doesn't drag on for hours too!!! You can lengthen or shorten the game to by deciding how many objectives to complete so great for a family night when you don't have a lot of time or make the fun last longer if you want to. Makes such a change from the kids staring at their Ipads. My daughters are 9 and 13, but myself and my husband love this game too. Must buy!!!

Great fun game
Takenoko is a very fun game. You have to grow and harvest shoots of bamboo while completing tasks for points. Each turn you can take multiple actions in an attempt to satisfy the criteria on the cards to score points. These include collecting bamboo, arranging tiles on certain patterns, or growing bamboo to certain heights. You use a farmer to grow the bamboo, but there's a hungry panda to eat the bamboo too!Games take 30 minutes or so, and is great fun for 2 players. The figures, cards, and tiles are very nicely illustrated, and they all feel high quality.

Love this game!
I hate board games. I just do. I’ve played lots over the years and I have a son who LOVES board games but I just can’t stand them. I hate the set up, hate learning the rules, hate winning, hate losing, hate everything about them BUT I love this game. It’s simple fun, easy to learn and so lovely to look at. The pieces are good quality wood and painted figures and my youngest child, who also never plays board games, will happily join in a game of Takenoko.

Fun, relaxing, bit strange point system
In lockdown I decided it's time to get some games in, this one really is quite fun and replayable. The minor issues are some of the tasks you gain are just as easy as other tasks but provide significantly less points, this is not a good method of scoring.Still the art is wonderful, it's a relaxing game and we do enjoy playing it, we are thinking about printing our own tasks out and laminating them to balance the game out as you can eat 2 green shoots and get 3 points or 2 red shoots and get 5. It doesn't make any sense doing it by colour unless you're moderating the number of available land plots of those colours.Like every game it takes 3 games to learn it. Instructions aren't fantastic, just remember that if it doesn't explicitly say you can do something then you can't.

Lovely game, very easy to learn
Read the rules, then play a game. You will find that you pick up the rules much easier by just playing a game it sort of explains itself and any queries are answered in the rule book. The quality of the playing pieces is very good, nice solid Panda and Gardener and the wooden bamboo, irrigation sticks and counters are nicely made and tactile, even the card tiles are well printed on good quality card. We've played it a couple of times and it is easy to introduce to new players and because there is no direct conflict in the game there is no real potential for conflict between over competitive players.Five stars from me.

Panda Power!
Very fun and enjoyable with rules simple enough for my 8yr old niece to not only understand, but also had a habit of repeatedly kicking my butt playing! Well worth getting and has a relatively fast playing time (usually get a game done in 30 or 40 minutes with 2 players). The components are of a good quality and a wonderful storage tray built in to hold all of the components securely, something I wish more games provided.

Good family fun
An intriguing board game which is easy enough to pick up but gets increasingly strategic as play goes on. The artwork is colourful and slightly cartoony in places but the hexagonal board pieces are almost like watercolour paintings. Players get to choose two actions from five possible each turn and can stockpile certain game elements for later use. It takes around 45 minutes to play and the sectional nature of the board pieces means that no two games will play out in the same way. We played as a family with the youngest player being seven and everyone got to grips with it easily enough.
