Soothing Essential Oil for Skin & Scalp Conditions
Cedarwood is a fantastic, lovely smelling essential oil in general, and this organic Cedarwood Atlas is no exception. I also have Cedrus deodora from Plant Guru which smells similar and has some overlapping properties and uses. The scent is soft, warm, slightly woody and balsamic. It smells very pleasant and other essential oils can often overpower this more subtle scent. Cedarwood is an evergreen tree that grows over 100 feet. The cedar species Cedrus Atlantica is native to the Atlas Mountains of North Africa. The wood chips and shavings are usually steam distilled to produce the essential oil. The essential oil is slightly viscous and a pale yellow color. Here are the therapeutic properties: Anti-inflammatory, antiseborrheic, antiseptic, depurative, pectoral, regenerative, restorative, tonic. Here are the therapeutic uses: Chest infections, catarrh, congestion, acne, skin problems, scalp disorders, cellulite, anxiety, stress, tension, physical exhaustion, detoxifying. I find myself using Cedarwood essential oil a lot in various roll-on blends like my Scar Fade Blend. Because of it's regenerative, nourishing qualities, it's great for healing skin conditions such as scars, dry skin, eczema, dandruff, infections, etc. I also added this oil to my Hair Loss Blend, to help heal the scalp and slow the loss of hair from any number of reasons. Because of cedarwood's uplifting and mood boosting aroma, it's a nice oil to use on the face. It blends well with a lot of other oils of all different types: citrus, floral, woody, camphorous, medicinal, sweet, etc. It's really an accommodating essential oil. Plant Therapy is a great company, and I don't believe I've ever been disappointed by any of the essential oils so far. They're reliable, and if you're making your own DIY skincare and bodycare products, I believe this is one of the best ones to have in your arsenal. Don't forget about the other types of cedarwood as well.. they're all pleasant and they're all effective in different ways. I like the fact that this Cedarwood atlas is organic, and for such a small price difference, I'd recommend the organic one instead of the regular essential oil. UPDATE: I'm having problems with the dropper on this bottle, even though it is still full of E.O. and is always tightly capped. It takes sooo long for anything to come out that when I turn the bottle upside down, I just stop waiting after a while. This is a problem I've seen now with a few of my bottles from Plant Therapy and I don't know how to remedy the situation. But it's frustrating that I can't use these oils and wish they were in dropper bottles instead.

Never regret
I bought it to repell spiders in my kids room. I only buy from plant therapy because they have the least toxic oils from all of the available on the market.

Disliked the smell. Plant Therapy made it more than right.
I purchased this product to use in a beard oil blend as well as for a pleasing fresh, woodsy scent. However, this oil does not smell like actual cedar wood. It is musty, and something about it rings in my nostrils and reminds me of the smell of a hot car (which I associate with car sickness). Needless to say, I do not personally like this oil. Hence 4 stars rather than 5. Read on to see why I gave such a high rating for a product I personally found unpleasant. I attempted to return through Amazon, and found that it is not eligible for returns. Fair enough. I contacted Plant Therapy directly and they were very friendly, easy to talk to, and helpful. Did you know they provide free shipping and have lots of promotions? You might get better deals by having an account directly with Plant Therapy rather than buying through Amazon. The PT associates I talked to helped me created an account where they could place a credit equal to the value of the product I had purchased through Amazon, and recommended Cedarwood Virginian (Juniperus virginiana) as the oil that I would probably like better (based on the smell). They sent that one to me for FREE in ADDITION to the credit added to my account. I now have this Cedarwood Atlas oil to give away to a friend who might like it better, a replacement bottle on the way, and credit with Plant Therapy towards another product. Full marks for Plant Therapy customer service! Highly recommended!

Nice smell of cedar.
I bought this as a add on to my organic bug spray. As nice smell of cedar to me, but bugs hate it. Being organic, I can spray around the inside of my apt. To keep moths and silverfish away. Love it so far.

I would purchase again in a pinch
I use cedarwood as a natural bug repellent along with rose geranium for my dog The quality of this brand is ok worked in a pinch but not my favorite brand I bought this as my regular brand was on back order I usually use Doterra this comes in as a close second compared to Doterra The price is responsible the scent is similar to what I usually use which is good I’ve tried other brands and sometimes the cedarwood can smell like cat urine which is obviously not distilled naturally

Awful smell, despite being an amazing company
I love this company. As a long time customer I have never been disappointed with any of their products. However. This specific oil smells strongly of cat pee. With undertones of bad breath- and maybe a tiny hint of Cedar. Returning for something I can actually tolerate to smell that doesn't make me feel like I'm trapped in a room with 20 cats who have been peeing on the carpet for years. Maybe it's my fault for not knowing what Cedarwood smells like? But this is nothing like the chest or closets at grandma's that I grew up smelling...

Delightful aromatic scent and keeps pests at bay
I got this to help me through a pest infestation initially, but even when they were confirmed cleared out, I’ve enjoyed this scent. It’s strong, homey, woodsy, and warm. It may be a little tough to get the oils to dispense, but I like that better than having them fish out too fast uncontrollably like with cheaper grade essential oils. This is a bit on the pricier end but you can tell it’s high quality when you use it. Fine therapy grade oils through and through. I do recommend this product. I use mine in a diffuser and I’ve used it in a spray bottle with an emulsifier along with other essential oils.
