The Rocket Sprint Start

Rocket or Jamaican?
I was, as usual, looing for an edge to improve my sprinting techniqueand my coaching skills. There are a lot of options for the sprint start, and many experts, so to havea comparison of two different styles in one book (at a reasonable price)was too good to resist. There is a bit about different body types and strenght so you have to use your own experiences as to whatapplies to whom. The final analysis is not totally clear but an experienced coach orcompetitor will work it out.In reality it is hard to make a change but there are a number of differences that can be appliedto improve on your current style. I particularly made use of the acceleration pickup at 20m which earned mea silver in a recent World Titles competition (giving away 8yrs and one metre to the winner). So, use it, or at least try it. Nothing to lose.

What a name for a Book
When you know the technic of block start it was quite amusing to read the book. There are thou some some details which everyone who claims to know the history of sprints should know. The value of the knowledge wins the price of the book. Include this in your KindleShelf of sports.

Good "old school" information
Good "old school" information. Sprint training has progressed since Bud Winter's day, but some of his innovations have value today...the "Rocket Start" is one of them.

The original was good enough why add more to Bud Winter's original?
I had this back in the 1970's based my start on it. There is plenty of insight from the great man it does not need an update or someone else's opinion.

Super Buch

Only First half is good
The second half is written by an average pro sprinter and is exactly the complete opposite of the first half, at almost all points of the start+drive.
