I have cataracts, but because I'm being treated for cancer right now I can't have cataract surgery. My vision is getting worse and worse, and will continue to do so until probably the 1st quarter of next year. I've gotten to the point where I can be standing two feet from something and barely be able to see or read it. I got these glasses to help me see the television a little better. As I said, they're not prescription but they sure do a fine job of enlarging things and making things look clearer & crisper. The only regret I have about buying these glasses is they didn't have a slightly stronger pair. I recommend them for people who are having a little trouble with distance viewing (distance as in 6 - 7 feet, not a mile or two).
