Exactly as promised! Yum!
This starter is consistently great. The recipes included are useful for the beginner and provide tasty bread and other items. Purists would use the starter without additional leavens, but it takes a while to produce a stronger culture, so these recipes are perfect-quick and uncomplicated.

Works with GF flour
I've been wanting Sourdough since I went gluten free but couldn't find it anywhere. So I bought this and it worked with the brand of GF baking flour I use. I've had to adapt the recipes a bit, but I was so glad it came with great instructions and some recipes. I'm from Alaska and this really tastes like home!

Good stuff!
I bought a few of these when on vacation in Alaska and loved it! The pancakes are awesome and so is the bread. I bought more thru Amazon when I got home from Alaska to give to more people. It's fun and easy to ferment and keep in your fridge for future batches.

Great simple sourdough starter
Simple straightforward, just follow directions. Includes a card with 5 - 6 recipes & how to maintain your sourdough starter.I pull my starter from the fridge in its container & stir it every couple days, then put it back in the fridge.

Houston we have a problem.
Ok I followed the directions to the letter with my husband a world class physicist.... We got very few bubbles. I mixed it several times a day as called for in the directions but it just kept splitting. The set ingredient site on top soaked flour underneath.... If a world class PhD in physics can't get it to work with the given directions then dare I say Houston, this product has a problem.

Not very good at a high altitude.
It did not seem to work for me and I am still trying to find a sour dough starter that works well at this altitude (Golden, CO 6,000 ft.). The sour dough starter works and had a nice fermentation but the bread did not rise properly and was very heavy. After several attempts, trying several different flours, and several different recipes, I threw away the starter. Hopefully others have better luck.
