Solid Light with Great Features—but MSRP Feels a Bit Ambitious As a photographer and videographer who regularly juggles YouTube videos, client shoots, and the occasional “I swear this will go viral” TikTok, I’ve come to appreciate gear that does what it promises. The ZHIYUN CINEPEER C100 mostly delivers—and then some. It's been a solid addition to my kit, especially for rim lighting and occasional fill light duties. But let’s talk details. The Good Stuff: Color range? Bananas. With 36,000 color options (yes, I double-checked to see if they were just making up numbers), I can dial in just about any hue or vibe I need—from warm cozy interviews to cool, moody product shots. Light output is impressive. 100W max with a CRI of ≥95 and TLCI ≥98? You can get professional results without needing to lug around a 10 lb softbox and a degree in lighting design. App control via ZYVega is smooth. Once you get the hang of it, being able to adjust from across the room without yelling at your assistant (or yourself) is a time-saver. Accessories included—barn doors and diffuser—are actually useful. The barn doors help reduce spill when I’m doing more controlled lighting setups, and the diffuser makes the light a lot more flattering on faces (even mine after 3 hours of sleep). Battery life holds up surprisingly well. Around 50 minutes at full blast is nothing to scoff at. Plus, having PD and DC power options gives you flexibility if you’re working all day. Why It’s Not a 5-Star Light: The price. It’s not that the C100 isn’t good—it is. But with other lights on the market offering similar features at lower prices, the MSRP makes me pause. You’re paying for the sleek design, build quality, and ZHIYUN’s solid ecosystem... but it still feels a tad premium for what it delivers. Final Take: The CINEPEER C100 is like that very competent friend who also insists on ordering the most expensive thing on the menu. You enjoy the company, admire the flair, but can’t help thinking you might’ve gotten similar value for less elsewhere. Still, if budget isn’t your primary concern, this is a fantastic light that will elevate your lighting game without breaking your back. Just maybe not your wallet.

Zhiyun is not a new brand, and in fact this light isn't even that new. However, if you're just coming across it now then you're lucky to have found the best RGB tube light everyone has been sleeping on. Is it the perfect lighting solution? Of course not. But this light has provided me utility that no other light can, with it's 100 watts of power, versatile charging and power solutions, and vibrant colors with advanced FX. For starters, a built in batter in a 100 watt light is rare. Even more so one that last as long as this does. I mean on full output it's only going to give you a little over 1 hour of use, but this thing is so bright you probably won't need it on full blast. It's perfect for a fill light reflected off the sealing, a rim light coming from the side, a hair highlight above your subject, and background lighting. It's more versatile than that but those are the ways I've used it so far. The diffusion options for it are decent out of the box. The diffusion on the face of this light can be removed if you want a hard light, but you can also add the diffusion sheet provided with this kit for almost a small softbox experience without any of the set up. The barn doors are for sure the most useful feature of this light though unfortunately they do leak out the sides and of course the two ends it doesn't cover. Even so there are a lot of ways to shape this light with the provided doors. The carrying case is really nice, stiffer and higher quality than what my other leds came with. It's excellently portable and not too heavy when packed up. The controls are fairly simple and easily laid out though there aren't too many instructions for this light. Now a big complaint is that there's no app functionality with this light. To be honest with you I haven't even tried to figure out how that works. I know there is a Zhiyun app, and maybe it can even connect to this light, but I've been using this light as a secondary or practical. I do use an app to control my key lights, so maybe this would matter more to me if I was using this as my key light. Even without good software support I wouldn't really detract that from the quality of this light. You are only getting much weaker and less vibrant battery powered tube lights on the market. This one is unique and does it's just extremely well for the price. Ultimately I think it's a great light, super versatile, powerful, and convenient. My biggest disappointment with it is that this version of the kit does not include a few accessories that you cannot purchase separately. I know there's a gridded softbox and clamp that really helps achieve better mounting options, but you can't buy these from Zhiyun. If you think there's any chance you'll want those attachments I would opt for the other model. The price difference is sizeable but it's the only way to get those pieces as far as I've seen. That detail aside, the price for this basic kit is really good. You're getting an incredible quality light that's sure to help on your shoots, I love it and I only wish I had two of them for uniformity in my lighting!

I purchased this and it stopped working after about 5 minutes. I tried charging it again overnight with the power cable and the USB option but I could never get it to turn on again...it just bricked. I reached out to Zhiyun's tech support but they never replied. So I was forced to return it. For the 5 minutes it actually worked it seemed pretty amazing.

Everything about this light is just excellent; it’s made with a metal shell, the fit and finish is excellent, the barn doors work well, the display makes it easy to control and it comes with a very high quality carrying case with great attention to detail. The output from this light - being battery powered - is really incredible, it’s extremely bright and has a wide brightness range that makes it usable for just about anything. I’ve used it a couple times so far and the battery lasted well over 3 hours of continuous use and the light output didn’t throttle at all even though it got fairly warm during use. The barn doors are really nice to have for focusing the light and I’m really glad they were included. I really like the colored lights for FX use and offscreen lighting and both worked well, at least in my limited use. I generally stick to just white light and can say that the light output here is very high quality along with accurate color temperatures. The carrying case is custom sized for the light and has tons of great details; it’s padded!, has great zippers, looks stylish and really, is just better than many 3rd party bags I’ve bought. Kudos to Zhiyun for all of the attention to detail here. It’s quickly become my favorite light I own and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone who asked, it’s just top-notch.

Oltre ogni aspettativa a livello di luce e di durata. 100W pieni solo con alimentazione elettrica attaccata e luce bianca (c'è l'apposita funzione max power). Da rivedere il panno per simulare la softbox perché si adatta malissimo e rischiando di far danni. Abbastanza inutili i supporti a rete e canalizzazione luce, in quanto la luce non è poi sufficiente se non per scatti in penombra

A great light however if you buy the light alone with no power adaptor (240v) There is no method of buying the power adaptor separately. Xiyhun do not sell them or even advise a third party equivalent and that's not a lot of use really.

Super lampe un peu lourde mais suffisamment compacte et puissante pour l'emmener avec soi en tournage, les accessoires sont bien foutus mais il y a un bug bizarre ou l'intensité est bloquée à 0 dans tous les modes quand elle est en charge sur secteur alors que sur usb-c elle fonctionne normalement.

This light has been a God send, the output is insane and it is very practical. I got the combo pack and I truly believe I can use it to create a range of scenarios. I truly recommend the lights.
