My go to Bourbon.
This is my favourite bourbon and one of my favourite drinks of all time. Punches well about its weight in terms of value. (Don't tell them, but it would be worth it at twice the price). Very smooth and drinkable to all. No strong flavours that would put any newcomers off. I consider the flavor and texture to be be quite "buttery" (in a good way) and has the moorish quality you want from great drink. Perfect for a celebration or a night cap in the winter months! Only thing to add is it has no packaging if you are getting as a gift, but perhaps that keeps the price low. The bottle is still very pleasing to the eye and still makes a good gift for someone lucky in your life.

A Firm Favourite
Outstanding. This bourbon packs in a remarkable amount of flavour with notes of cherry, cocoa, spices, vanilla, freshly planed oak, and maybe even a touch of banoffee pie. This bourbon uses a relatively high proportion of rye (18%, last I checked), to which some of those flavours owe (not least the delicious cherry note, which sings!), but the classic rye pepperiness is restrained and well balanced by the softer, sweeter corn base of the mash bill. I must admit I found it a bit oaky initially (“double oaked,” go figure…), but it rapidly grew on me after a couple of glasses to the point of becoming a regular favourite. As a bonus, my wife loves getting a whiff of the nose on this, comparing it favourably to a library with lots of wooden furniture. I’ve noticed this is often in Prime promotions, so if you’re still on the fence, consider waiting until you can snag a deal. For cocktail aficionados, this also makes a great Old Fashioned, although I’m usually too lazy to do anything but pour it straight from the bottle. Highly recommended and a sure winner for anyone seeking a gift idea for the discerning whisk(e)y-lover in his or her life!

Well worth it
I haven't been too enamored by bourbon in the past, that is until I tried the Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. Wow, I now know what I have been missing. It is first rate. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. Cheaper-end whiskies, even well known brands, just aren't worth it. Fork out a bit more and savour the difference - your gut will thank you for it.

Better than its price point
Outstanding tipple this. Great flavour, a real improvement over the already very nice baseline Woodford Reserve. I've had plenty of bourbons priced higher than Double Oak's usual RRP of £50-£55'ish and don't see how they can justify the extra. Whenever this comes down to around £40 or under it is 100% a must buy for me

Still one of the easiest “treat yourself” bourbons to love
Woodford Double Oaked is one of those bottles you crack open and instantly remember why it’s such a favourite for so many people. The first sip is just… smooth. Thick, almost syrupy. You get that classic sweet Woodford vibe but with all the edges rounded off, then layered with this deep toasted-oak thing that makes it feel way richer than the standard bottle. The nose hits you with caramel straight away, then darker stuff — chocolate, a bit of toasted marshmallow, that warm bakery smell that makes you go back for a second sniff. The extra finishing really does something here; it adds this dense, dessert-like quality without going full sugar-bomb. Taste-wise it leans heavy into vanilla and dark wood, with a bit of spice hiding underneath but nothing sharp. More of a rolling, warm sweetness than a kick. The finish hangs around too — not hot, just this lingering wave of brown sugar and soft oak that feels embarrassingly easy to drink. It’s one of the few bourbons where even people who “don’t really like whiskey” tend to go, “oh… that’s nice.” Not cheap, obviously, but if you want a bottle that feels luxurious without being pretentious, Double Oaked absolutely hits that spot. Perfect for sipping, showing off, or just keeping for nights when you want something a bit indulgent.
