Durable Standard Aluminum Foil Roll, 18 Width x 1000' Length

Good quality heavy duty foil (more below). The dispenser box is very heavy cardboard with a reinforced cutter blade. The aluminum foil roll is suspended in the box by plastic end pieces that allow you to easily pull out what you need without any friction. I don't know what other brand large rolls of foil have but I'm glad this one did. As far as thickness of the foil (which is what most people want to know. US Packaging & Wrapping LLC lists foil standards as follows: .0004" - .0007" = Standard Foil .0008" - .0010 = Heavy Duty Foil .0011" - .0016" = Extra Heavy Duty Foil * .0001" = One ten thousandths of an inch / .0016" = Sixteen ten thousandths of an inch Comparison: I measured a leading brand and this product (Durable Packaging HD Foil) with a caliper capable of .0001" accuracy. .0006" = Reynolds Standard Foil .0009" = Reynolds Heavy Duty Foil .0009" = Durable Packaging Heavy Duty Foil (This Product) * Basically this product is identical in thickness to Reynolds Heavy Duty Foil. Just a side note: Some people look at the extra heavy duty foil. From what I see the Extra HD foil is about 3 times the cost of heavy duty foil. For comparison if you took a piece of standard foil and laid it on top of piece of HD foil, the measurement (.0015") would be the equivalent of Extra HD foil. In my opinion standard foil is too thin for most uses and extra heavy duty foil is a waste for most uses. If you buy the Heavy Duty Foil and simply double it (.0018") it is thicker than Extra HD Foil and would be twice the cost of HD foil (because you doubled it) but still 33% less than the cost of Extra HD Foil.

Excellent product. It offers extra thickness and added strength. It's ideal for use in the kitchen. I place it at the bottom of the oven rack to provide needed surface when baking or when re-heating meats, i.e., poultry, fish or red meat. I also use it to wrap turkey, when broiling it in the oven. Price use to be ~ $25 +tax for a 12" x 500ft, but not anymore. Now is about $45. That is bad for my wallet. The good thing is that the last roll I purchased lasted almost 2 years. I guess I have been frugal or careful not to waste it. But I know I use it almost everyday. It was money well spent, for sure. I may be buying some more soon.

The aluminum roll appears to be commercial grade. Durable, and suitable for most all over, grill, even campfire applications. Were it only the roll, this likely would be a 5 star product. Sadly, the box it comes in is hardly fit for 100 ft, let alone 1000. It crumbles under the weight of the aluminum. It arrived torn, and so badly mangled the outer 100 ft were only just usable due to the aluminum layers being smashed together. Every time I go to use this product, I am frustrated beyond words at the ordeal it is to unroll and struggle to tear it as the aluminum rips free from what remains of the box, rolling onto the counter, across the stove, over the table, etc, etc. If you have a hard mounted deli style tearing station this product could be great for you... if it doesn't arrive to broken to salvage. 1 Star.

This is the best way to buy foil. Wide enough and of high quality. My friend recommended that we buy our foil this way a while ago and I will never go back to the small retail size rolls. It actually seems like it last forever. I know we save a lot of money this way.

Durable Packaging Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil Roll, 12" Width x 500' Length This is the second time I've purchased this Aluminum Foil from Amazon. I find this to be a very good value: Since the name brand doesn't offer the 500' length I can only compare the 200' length, for pricing. My local supermarket doubles coupons if they are less than 1.00. That said, if I figure the cost of the name brand: Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil, the cost of this Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil still costs me 1/3 less than the name brand at the only store I am able to shop at, my local supermarket. I use it for baking and have no problems at all with it. I also use it for freezing, and experimented with freezing bread, using a sheet of the name brand and a sheet of this. Wrapped the bread in freezer paper and then both of them in Heavy Duty Foil. After 7 days both had the same amount of freezer degradation, so they are equal in all ways I have tested them. I took away 1 star because I think the box design could be better in only one way: after you tear off the sheet you're going to be using, you have to raise the lid and reach inside the box to start another sheet. I'm obviously not an engineer but would it not work to have a slit in the lid to pull the foil through, down, cut and have foil remaining in that slit, like a tissue box, for next time? Other than that minor complaint, tis perfect. The box sits neatly under my microwave cart, doesn't take up a lot of space, and the cutter works well and easily. I recommend this product, even to people like me who have problems with their hands due to RA, or other forms of arthritis.

Sounds silly to love an aluminum foil but this stuff is awesome! It’s thick and really sturdy. You can cover a dish and take off and on several times without it tearing. Fabulous for grilling packets too!
