I'm writing a review as a fool who didn't really know what a ratchet belt was before I bought it. Yes, that's me, buy first, discover later! I was pleased by the positive reviews of others and figured I'd give this a try. Here's my experience:FAST SHIPPING!!! Ordered it on a Wednesday, and even though it's not prime eligible, it was on my doorstep that Friday. 2 days, awesome job on shipping! Impressed.BUCKLE NOT INCLUDED!!! I opened it up, got the belt out, noticed the lack of a buckle . . . I was confused of course. But . . . I might need to pay a bit more attention to all the words in the description because I thought I read it but it looks like I just skimmed it and managed to miss the part where the buckle is not included. It's like their 4th bullet point they have! Ok, I was browsing through the other belts and the cheapo normal belts cost about this or so, with buckle so I just assumed. (I've since ordered and received a buckle. will give the buckle a review shortly as well)CUSTOMIZABLE LENGTH!!! The length was plenty for my 34" sorta variable to 36" waist (depending on the brand). One must cut the excess to meet your needs but this was super easy and kind of a good thing as you aren't relying on guessing to get it right!WORKS GREAT!!! So I still wasn't exactly sure how the ratchet belts worked as I had only 1/2 of what I needed. But once the buckle arrived, how to use became obvious. The buckle held firmly and it's just a breeze to use! Once you get the belt on, there is a release on the buckle that let's you take it off. That's it. I kinda wish all my belts were ratchet now.To summarize, this is a ratchet belt without buckle, that's as good quality wise as any belt I've owned, and once you get (or switch) your buckle on it, it's exactly what it claims to be. The leather is that fake glued together stuff, but it looks very real. The only way I could tell it was fake was that the teeth from the buckle would straight tear through the belt eventually and would fall off, like ripping through old fabric. To their credit, while they functioned, the belt looked great, and it WORKED great! It fit far better than any belt with holes ever could, alas, they only last about a year before the buckle teeth have torn through the belt so many times that you'll have to hand it down to a smaller man or get rid of it because it's too short, and after about a year some of the plastic teeth wear down to where they won't reliably hold the belt together.If you're looking for a belt that will last a year or two, this is great. If you're looking for a belt that will last a lifetime, go with something made of full grain leather. If they ever figure out how to get a ratcheting system into a real leather belt, and maybe make the teeth out of metal instead of plastic so they last longer, I'll be right there first in line.

since I discovered the ratchet belts I became number one fan of the system.. the 4 stars are because the color of the strap A-102 Brown that appears in the photos do not represent the precise reality of what they sent me. I expected more of a coffee brown and the color is more of chocolate brown, meaning that is not as dark as shown in the photos .. otherwise, the quality seems to be very good both of the strap and buckle.. the black strap i order is perfect tough..

Love the concept, and worked very well initially. Now the "teeth" that secure the buckle to the belt are no longer holding. Very disappointing as I really like the product otherwise. I was able to glue down a piece of heavy-duty aluminum from the bottom of a pie-pan. The "teeth" caught very well on the metal, making the belt usable. I really like this product and am glad to be able to find a way to use it.

Took a little while to get it, it well worth the wait. This is a ratchet belt, for the ratchet buckles. The belts aren't heavy duty at all, so getting a replacement at a cheap price is well worth it. Love the ratchet style, I just belt loops easily because I'm a rugged outdoorsman, but the ratchet style doesn't have that problem. I received the belt yesterday, trimmed the excess, and I'm wearing it today. Just that easy, and for way less than buying a new belt!

A few days after inserting the stylus, the edges along the long sides start to peel, and eventually, it came off altogether. The backing of the sleeve isn't sufficiently rigid to prevent this.

Ratchet belt is the only belt I will ever use from now one. Not every waist is the same size even if people wear the same size pants so it is nice that the belt has much smaller adjustment increments. And also being able to cut the belt to the length you want before you start using it is nice too.

Material appeared of decent quality, but the underside of the belt tore/cracked within 6 mos. Do not believe the belt backing is leather -- that must be the alloy the listing mentioned. Exterior of the belt still look brand new, but you can tell the belt will fail shortly.
