A great light with lots of features.
What drew me to this light initially was the price point that it was at. Very affordable, however usually lights in this price range have just a simple on/off switch. This has some great features compared to those. First it has a 6/10/12 hour mode, which basically from the moment you click the button, the lights will stay on for 6/10/12 hours then turn off, then tomorrow (at the same time you clicked it) it will repeat automatically. So if you wanted the lights to come on at 10am, and turn off at 8pm, then all you do is at 10 am, click the timer button till 10h is lit, and then every day they will pop on at 10, and turn off 10 hours later at 8pm.It also allows for colored light, if you wanted to give your tank a little pizazz (red, green, blue, orange, cyan, yellow, purple, fade between them, or just full spectrum white. You can also set the brightness in 10% intervals from 10-100.But far and away my FAVORITE feature is the 24/7 mode. It is a feature that you usually only see in very expensive lights to do a full day cycle (including colors). What you do is click the 24/7 button until the current time is displayed (I recommend doing this at when the current time is one of the displayed on the unit, so it is "synced" to real life. For example, I did mine at 12noon, because 12 noon was one times listed. Choices are 6am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 8pm (the times after 12 noon are listed in 24h military time, but I translated them here for your convivence).Once it is synced to the correct time, it goes through a full day's cycle. I thought it was just going to be a simple fade on and fade off the light, but Nooooooo. This is way more then that!!! The colors also match, so in the morning it does a very subtle sunrise color, of oranges and yellows as it get brighter, turning to more of a full spectrum color, then in the evening it goes into a sunset mode, with more orange and pink hues, then going to night with more of a blue color which then dims to off. It is very subtle all the changes, but very effective as it simulates the full day, and it is nice early morning or dusk, seeing a sunrise/sunset colors in the tank. It is a very advanced feature that takes only setting the time to setup!would highly recommend these lights for anyone looking for affordable lights, that are easy to setup and are packed with features!

This is actually a really nice fish tank light.
I have zero complaints about this light. Price point seems really very fair for what you're getting ($23 dollars for the 12W version at the time I received the item, my review is really just relevant with that price point in mind.) So that said, this is a really nice light. Seems to be made of quality materials, I mean I have other fish tank lights in this price range and truly the build quality on this one seems very much more sturdy, better sealed, overall better thought out. I am actually using this on a 29 gallon 30" long tank at the moment, but it still fits and works out because the tank is only 12" long, and this fits perfectly. I really like the type of mounting system they decided to use on this as it will work with a rimmed or a rimless tank no issues there, and will do so without any flex is which nice and sadly not something you can take for granted on budget tank lights. Cord is plenty long and of good quality, and even the control box is much more straight forward and easy to use than most fish tank lights around this price point. Another awesome thing about this item is that it actually pulls off a natural daylight feel, and a somewhat natural full day cycle feel really well in comparison to others that look too "rgb"... This actually gives off light that makes your tank look like it's outside in nature for the most part (though it does get a tad rgbish around the night-time and early morning hours, but that is sortof just what you get in this price range and technology level for tank lighting I'm afraid). I wouldn't hesitate to actually buy one of these in the future if I need another tank light, job very well done. One thing I will say is that it does seem to get pretty warm, and I can't really speak to the longevity of the product, though thus far I have no reason to believe it will be anything other than a stellar item that lasts me a long time.

A better choice for lighting your fish tank.
The AQQA LED Aquarium light is great. This product is a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their fish tank light or need to retrofit an older fish tank. We used this in the later case, upgrading from an old black tank lid which had a flap and a housing for a conventional light bulb.I was skeptical about this category of product at first and figured the light would be at best the equivalent of the old aquarium light, probably not better. But I was wrong we see our fish literally in a different light! Illumination is clear and warm, not overly harsh and bright. There are details we’ve never seen before that we now can appreciate every day. There are many lighting schemes to choose from and also a simulated daylight mode. Light brightness has 10 levels of controlConstruction is excellent and all components seem made of good quality materials. For people who have aquariums with plants and or fish who need a certain amount of warmth the AQQA LED Aquarium will not replace the warmth of a conventional bulb lid (where the bulb was your lighter and heater) and you’ll need to get a separate tank heater.Having upgraded to this light we’re glad ou old lid failed and we did not replace it with a new top. The AQQA LED Aquarium light is a much better experience.

Awesome deal!
This is a really great deal for this programmable, full spectrum LED aquarium light! Yes, at 12-18 inches it's intended for the small tanks so measure accordingly. This light can be set at 24 hour where it will mimic the sun coming up and setting. Or you can choose it to set it to a timer to be on for either 6, 10, or 12 hours a day. Or you can manually turn it on and off the old fashioned way. You can even choose a particular color, steady on or cycling through all the colors slowly one at a time. You can also adjust the brightness to your liking. A lot of bang for your buck with this little guy. I will say I'm actually using mine in place of replacing the florescent bulb in the hood light of my 36 gallon tank. I just nestled the little guy up under the hood and voila I'm instantly upgraded to Cadillac features without losing the look of the tank. I highly recommend. Happy shopping!
