Good quality phone
Great phone, just what I needed. I had no problems whatsoever. The battery life is excellent & the 128gb of storage is way more than I need to store any and everything. Cool price as well, 5 stars.

Works perfectly
This is a great budget phone. I ordered it to work with Tello (which is a T-Mobile MVNO). The phone is fully unlocked and connected to Tello without issue. I first used an e-SIM. The Tello e-SIM installed using the QR code and functions perfectly. I then used a physical Tello SIM for a second line. That SIM installed and activated without issue as well. Both getting a 5G connection. Everything with the phone is working perfectly (WiFi, 5G/4G, Bluetooth, speakerphone, etc). Battery life is excellent. I did have to do a lot of security updates to get the phone current from the base install of Android 14. Then, just today (8/7/2025) it received the Android 15 update. Which is great! I can tell the phone was originally used with Visible (by Verizon). Physically the phone is in very good condition. It has a few extremely minor scratches on the screen but that's it. Other than that it looks brand new. The scratches are only visible when you clean the screen with something like an alcohol wipe and with the light hitting at just the right angle. I installed a tempered glass screen protector and the tiny scratches are completely hidden. Overall a great phone at a great price that works with all the major carriers. Android 15 is running great on it is as well.

Poor workmanship and poor warranty. Not worth the cost savings!
Amazon renewed items are NOT as advertised or expected. Not worth the small $$ price savings. They push out poorly repaired items covered by very short and hidden warranty periods. This phone screen was separating within a few months, but the owner didn't realize the phone only had a 3 month warranty. Then when it fell 2 ft and came apart a couple of months later, Amazon said it was out of warranty. A certified repair facility said they broke the case putting it back together and used cheap glue. Upon review I'm seeing other items that experienced premature failures on their Renewed items, but new versions were no longer available. I will be much more caution buying Amazon Renewed tech equipment in the future....

This has the features that SHOULD be standard!
Motorola deserves a huge amount of credit for manufacturing a modern smartphone with a 3.5mm headphone jack, expandable storage by Micro SD, and most importantly, an unlockable bootloader. These features should be standard across the board, but the flagship phones from most manufacturers neglect to include these things. I love the 120hz display and the 720p resolution doesn't bother me. The battery life is impressive as well. This is an extremely good product for the low price. The phone isn't very durable, though, and mine got a crack in its screen after falling out of my pocket a single time. Maybe that should be expected at the price point of this phone, but it was still disappointing. Definely buy a case and screen protector with this. As is par for the course with most smartphones, Motorola's stock version of Android isn't very good, but that shouldn't be held against them when the unlockable bootloader allows you to flash a custom ROM of your choice. I've had a great time experimenting with different versions of Android, (Lineage OS, /e/,) though technical problems which might not be Motorola's fault have forced me back to the stock OS to retain all of the device's crucial functionality.

Best budget phone you can buy
The Motorola g 5g 2024 is the value phone you can buy. The phone is still very usable with very minimal lag once you get everything loaded. The battery life is long and the phone is durable. The speed is as expected for the phone.

Looking for a good quality phone that won't break the bank?
Pretty good quality so far, only had it a couple days though. Pretty good value for price, battery life is definitely an improvement from my Galaxy Fold 3, though the processing is a little slower but still better quality.

eSIM locked to T-Mobile
Please be aware that while the physical SIM card was indeed unlocked, the eSIM was locked to T-Mobile. I called the T-Mobile customer care number shown in the picture, but was only directed to visit a physical store. I went to a T-Mobile store, but they couldn’t resolve the issue. In the end, I had to return the phone. That said, other than the eSIM issue, the phone itself worked perfectly. I can recommend the device—as long as both the physical SIM and the eSIM are unlocked.

The buying process (not prime user) was a bit stressful as my initial purchase was lost and without any option to recover my money for 2 weeks as was as "preparing for shipping" status by the delivery company. Then, I bought it again in the middle of those 2 weeks and received it early in 3 days (with customer service support and explaining the situation). Now, the phone supposed to be refurbished "acceptable" (after "like new" or "good"but other than the opened box, I cannot find any visible imperfections. It arrived with less than 40% battery, which worried me a bit (long storage time or defective battery? which in any case, the device can work less than desirable or start misbehaving) but charged properly and seems to operate as new. Initially it operate with some lags during the installation, but once set it, it works as new! Has an option for the "intelligent virtual ram" that sucks, as is definitely better to use the max 4 (when "intelligent" it uses ressources to determine if need 2 or 4 of virtual ram so it gets slower and this was maybe the reason of the problems during the initial setup). So, I can recommend to change this option first thing once possible to enter to the phone settings. I wanted this phone as an eSim hotspot when traveling and is working perfectly! Found this eSim company (simovo) that for $2 cad, 7 days 1GB and the setup took 30 seconds! (Once paid at their website, they sent an email with 3d code and a link as option for setup and using the link, the phone opened what I needed to open/confirm). I only installed a very limited quantity of the apps I generally use, but I want to believe that with a full setup of what I generally use, the phone will still respond as a new unit and not as a refurbished one (sometimes you get lucky or you get a trashy device that will show little problems that will increase in no time). Once coming back to Canada, I will probably do full setup and travel only with this phone (and place my physical sim in the device for those times). Great item, zero regrets!

I needed a newer cell phone so I thought I would take my chances on a "good" quality refurbished phone. I am extremely happy with the phone I received. I was expecting a few marks being only "good" quality, however the phone itself, I would say looks brand new, with no scratches or blemishes. The screen has no scratches or marks, and everything works as expected (speakers, charging port, headphone jack etc). The phone itself does not have any way to monitor the battery's total health, at least that I could find' I did however install a trusted third-party app to determine the battery's overall health, which indicated 93-96% total battery left. The two different percents are due to the app detecting the battery at 5164mAh which gave the 93%, however if the mAh is adjusted to the rated 5000 this gives the 96%. either way it is close to brand new.

Just slip in your sim card and go. very light but feels nice. don't really need a case. coming from a premium phone this one was a fraction of the cost and it honestly seem very close to quality/performance etc.. and the price is great. I bought a refurbished one and it seems brand new. only downside is no charger included .

Item was purchased as a gift for my elderly mother to use for emergencies. Will be interesting to see if we can pry her old Apple 6S, that no longer holds a charge, away from her. At least being more familiar with Android architecture, I can at least assist when she's erased the internet... Device arrived quickly (a little too quickly, as we were expecting it two days later and were not at home when it arrived.) Unit seems to be unscathed. No visible scratches or other signs of wear. Lit up fine. Was a tad confused by the Samsung charging block (?), but that's minor. Have removed many of the superfluous non-mom required apps and put her usual contacts in, in advance, so that on Christmas, we grab her 6s and simply switch out the SIM card before she knows what happened. Other than that, I think this was a good value item. Recommended.

So you get what you pay for I guess. The phone is perfect except as a phone function. The speaker for the phone specifically is horrible. It's always sounding garbled and I can't hear people on the other end. Every call is this way. I needed a phone with a proper phone speaker so I'm choked. The media speaker on the bottom is fine though thankfully. I understand it's refurbished but you can't sell a phone and say it's been tested if the main function of a phone , for PHONE CALLS is in horrible condition. I don't give products low ratings but I'd say 2.5. I gave it a 3 because for the price it's what you have to accept. Changed it because few weeks later it's infuriating how horrible any call is.
