Fun in a box
What a brilliant game, needing tactics and skill to score. We were introduced to this on Christmas Day by friends and a couple of days later, received our own game. If you love a game that won't necessarily take hours to play, then get this.

Great game for children and adults
Nonsensical name for an excellent game! Tiles are made up of 6 different shapes in 6 different colours X3 of each = 108 tiles. Laid out like Scrabble, played on a flat surface. Each player starts with 6 tiles, randomly pick from a big bag. Simple to understand and score. More than 4 persons can play, but total scores are lower - simple! Good value for money, takes about 1 hour per game.

This is a very fun and easy to learn game to play with friends or with the kids. The color blind version has shapes in the center of the pieces that can be used to distinguish colors. I also bought the add on of stands, pencil and scorecard - they all fit within the box. The canvas bag and pieces are well made and I expect it to last a lifetime.

My hubby and I learned about this game from a fellow camper at the campground. This is a fun game that can be played competitively, cooperatively, with each player against each other, with a partner, with scoring, or not. It's like a puzzle combined with dominoes and Sudoku-like problem-solving. I like that elementary students up to adults can play. It takes longer to play for beginners, but folks who've played awhile can get through a game in 20 minutes. I think a timer could be set, and whoever gets the most points in that amount of time could be determined the winner. Or, as a counselor, I could play with a young client and we could work cooperatively to get the most points possible in 15 minutes and keep trying to beat the score each session. This game teaches focus, strategy, thinking ahead (impulse control), and can be used, like any game, to reinforce good sportsmanship--complimenting players on their choices, congratulating the competition on making high-scoring plays. The game also reinforces math (if you keep score), and could be played with earned tokens instead of points. The tiles come in a box, but there's a bag to use while the game is happening. I think it's too much of a pain to put the tiles back in the box--so it would be best just to store the game in the bag. It might be a good idea to laminate the directions so they don't get torn up if stored in the bag. This game would be a great gift for a family.

Well made. Nice wooden tiles. Fun, easy game while still challenging.

FUN family or all adult game. Matching UP to six colors with the same shape or six shapes each with a different color. Score in one or more directions and if you put the sixth one down YOU Quirkle!

Our family loves Qwirkle and this color blind version is even easier for me where I had blue-purple difficulty with the main version. The pieces are a little thinner but the bag stands up now! We end up playing more often and more games each time since this is less frustrating.
