Extraordinary adventures of Tintin!
Who am I to write a review on Herge's immortal creation The Tintin! 4th volume contains collection of 3 yet another exciting adventures with a wonderful storyline, lively illustrations which only Herge can create. Myself, my wife and my son were jostling for the books....to complete the stories. Waiting to buy the 5th volume in next month.

Authentic and beautiful
The item was really good. I don't know why some people are complaining about the font, although I think it is pretty good. Yes, it is a bit small but it's very clear and prominent. The condition of the book was good but the packaging by Repro books is very poor. Tin Tin is one of those characters that excites every age group. I had this childhood dream and now, this is 4th in my collection!

Its Tintin in hardcover form
The print quality is not at par with my original Mammoth publication series. The important part is there are 3 books in hardcover format so it will withstand abuse at the hands of young readers.

As Advertised and great quality
The packaging was really good received the book early too and the book is as advertised with three best stories featuring Tintin Haddock and the Thomson Twins.

The repeat escapades down the memory lanes of youth were worth every moment.

Amazon should advertise this as A5 size as most people would expect it to be the traditional size. It is hard to read!

Many young children love the Tintin comic books. I bought this volume to relive the good old times that was my childhood. It is remarkable that the first Tintin adventure came out way back in 1929 (almost one hundred years ago)! This is the best testimony to Tintin's great appeal. The Secret of the Unicorn (five-star rating) is arguably the best story in Volume 4. It has all the intrigue, action, and adventure that one would expect. It is an important title because Marlinspike Hall (Captain Haddock's country house and family estate) was first introduced here together with Nestor, who eventually became the butler for Captain Haddock. As an aside, it was only much later that I discovered the significance and aptness of the word “marlinspike”. It means a pointed metal tool used by sailors to separate strands of rope or wire. Red Rackham’s Treasure (three-star rating) is the continuation of the Unicorn story. It is fundamentally a treasure-hunt tale. However, the story is relatively weak — it does not contain any villains, and lacks the Unicorn’s pace and excitement although there is much slapstick humour in it. It is noteworthy for the first appearance of the lovable Professor Cuthbert Calculus. The Shooting Star (four-star rating) largely revolves around a race between two opposing teams to reach a fallen meteorite. There is much excitement here but some aspects of the story do not hold up to scientific scrutiny. For example, if the heat from the approaching meteor is so intense such that it causes car tyres to explode and road tar to melt, surely people will not be hanging around outdoors. And if the fallen chunk of meteor is so hot that it can cause the waters surrounding it to boil, one would be unable to clamber around the fallen rock. But then again, no one reads Tintin for realism 😊. Overall, this is a fun read … one should just suspend one’s disbelief and enjoy the ride for old times’ sake.
