Exactly as described. Easy to pull the pin for the alarm, but not too easily done as for accidently pulling. Loud alarm!! Bright light! Gave 3 as gifts for Christmas and they all loved them! Getting one for myself today. Highly recommend!!

Since I haven’t encountered a bear yet on my hikes, I don’t know how well it works to deter a bear. It definitely emits a loud and obnoxious sound. I’m able to take the cap off quickly to sound the alarm and easily recap to shut it off when done with use.
