This looks like a very nice hiking shoe, although my daughter has not used it yet. I wanted to point out that it runs very large. I originally ordered a size 7 for my daughter who is a 6 1/2. It was extremely large on her and fit me, and I usually wear an 8 1/2. I reordered in a size 6 which fits her.

My daughter loved these and they didn’t require much break in before we went hiking at Grandfather mtn in NC.

We have bought several of these shoes as overall they are high quality hold up well and are waterproof. However, every single pair has had the laces fail and break far too soon. The laces are low quality or it's the eyelet cutting the lace. Too bad as other wise a great shoe.

These lasted my son just over a year before we reordered and sized up. Ran hard and used them for brakes on his balance bike almost every day in the summer. The shoes held up through it all and only really showed signs of wear on the bottoms where he dragged them along the pavement. The sizing was a bit confusing so I ordered the first pair too big, but they were still usable from the get go so it ultimately just gave us more time before we had to replace them.

Bummer - I bought these specifically because I needed waterproof shoes for a hiking trip in a wet climate. These are not even a little waterproof! My kid had very wet feet the entire trip. Otherwise they’re good - comfortable, good traction, etc.

My son wears them every single day, he is super picky. When we ordered, we did it wrong so we returned them (it was our fault). Got the other shoes super fast, comfortable and waterproof verified! I wish I could find some other designs in the same brand for teenagers.

These are great for tie up hiking shoes. My son has never had to tie his laces on his hikers, so this was exciting for him to learn.If you try elastic laces they just don't stay tight enough to keep the heel planted and it will lift, so tying the laces is really the only option.Unfortunately the novelty of tying them wore off pretty fast and he never wore them when going for a walk, he would always grab his velcro top shoes.Columbia Redmond hikers are great general/basic hiking for adults, but kid sized version only works if you are prepared to tie the laces. My experience with the Redmond model in adult size was that they have ok grip but stay wet forever if you soak them. Stilla well made shoe though.
