Works as advertised.
Easy setup. Seems to be accurate. I use mine to display outdoor watering usage and to calibrate soaker hose coverage. As mentioned in another review, sediment can cause it to stick, but that's to be expected with this type of device. I did put a sediment filter ahead of it, and flow does not seem to be reduced. The filter has the added advantages of preventing clogs downstream. I installed the unit with adapters to quick connects so that if it sticks, I can just remove it and poke a pencil into the outlet and unjam it. I've had more expensive flowmeters and they all have disadvantages -- the plunger types can jam with sediment, and others have been a lot more difficult to correct than this one. The impeller types have their own issues of not being particularly reliable unless you spend several hundred dollars. The simplicity of this unit overcomes the one disadvantage

Simple and effective
Simple device that works like it should. I checked it by timing the time required to fill a 30-gallon container, and it is accurate within what I can measure using my iPhone as a timing device.

Flow Indicator Sticks Easily and NOISY
While flushing out my closed-loop solar system after installing this flow meter, very small thin flakes of debris gets stuck in flow indicator causing it to stick open. Removed meter, cleaned, reinstalled, filled system and works better but still not a smooth operation when pump on/off. This meter needs more clearance between meter wall and indicator with then using a lighter spring to stay gpm calibrated. I expected much more for the price. On the good side, I appreciate the brass unions with O-rings. Makes removing/installing the meter to clean easier than other plumbing hardware install methods. Update: No more debris in my solar system. Flow meter works smoothly now. However, now meter makes a buzzing/vibration sound when indicating flow between 2 - 4 gpm. My system optimum is 2.5 - 3 gpm. Can hear the buzzing noise through pipes and in house from attic now too. Very annoying! Rating 'was' a 3. Now with noise, a big fat 1. I was better off with debris stuck in meter being, least it was 'quiet' with flow going through it!!

Loud. Really loud.
I bought this flow meter to measure flow in a hydronic heating system. It appears to measure flow quite well, at least within about .25 GPM or so. However, it is really loud. I measured it with a digital sound level meter, and it's at least 88 dB at 12 inches. The spring inside rattles against the plastic, making an awful screeching sound. Unfortunately, this product belongs where hearing protection is routinely worn, not a residence.

Pressure / flowrate tools
The part came very fast and is what I ordered, however a word of causion, If you are messuring a deep well like i am, be aware that the flow meter is very sensitive to any sand or silt in the water flow, the meter gets stuck and must be un-jamed beween uses, one answer may be to install a sediment filter before the meter, but that will impact the result.

Nice foolproof flow meter. Loud at high flow rates.
I am using the Flowmeter to verify water flow in a drip irrigation system. I am in California where we are in a multi-year drought. We are mandated to reduce water consumption. The flow meter is very loud when flow reaches 10 gpm. This may be fine if being used in a commercial setting. I would estimate the SPL is >70dB at 10' (not a scientific measurement). I am flowing approx 3-5gpm and I feel I can run the irrigation with my neighbor next door at 5am without issue.
