ArcBotics Hexy Open Source Low Cost Fully Articulating DIY Robot Kit with 19 Servos

I enjoyed building this Hexapod. This is my first walker so it has been educational as well.Setting up the servos went easily after upgrading the controllers. I would have to say that the work is a little tedious but well worth it.Plan on experimenting with more controllers and sensors.

Good customer support. Shipped with missing battery holder, contacted ArcBotics and they sent me a new one. Had to buy different (larger) screws because of "v" shaped laser drilled holes. Cracked a part during assembly, but a spare was included in set. Stripped servo gear during code devolepement, but spare was provided in kit. Had to use extra nuts (provided) to prevent body from pinching some legs. Used Sanyo Enelope batteries. Worked well for my robitics class during grad school.

Worked great the first time I powered it up! The documentation is a little sparse but I got through it. It's a very impressive package and I would recommend this to anyone who loves electronics or robotics.

Is this thing even supported anymore? Software is buggy, instruction on website have pictures out of order... Bluetooth took about a dozen hours to get working. Barely has enough power (5amp) to move well... Though it would take off and I'd see lots of stuff for it... Nope....

I am in love with this!!! Putting it together wasn't bad. getting started was a little tricky. I am a beginner so I'm still learning but I am very happy with this product.

Like 90% of kickstarter projects this looks like a promising idea. It's the reality that disappoints.The servos these ship with are useless, they cannot lift the body. There's obviously a reason other kits cost 5 times more. Lesson learned.

Updates to Hexy are a huge win for the bot, a lot of the negative issues that people are talking about are gone now. Great product, good company.

I had 6 bad servos. Love the look, but gave up on this.I am big into building these things. Love the effort, but too many glitches.
