Comparable to phone app readings
I compared the results against an app on my phone, the results were very comparable and probably a little more precise; so it should be good enough to use, I'm not saying the results are 100% accurate but at least it will give you a good idea of what the decibel levels are at that time in that area.

good basic meter
I ordered this more out of curiosity rather than anything else but I do use a large electric angle grinder from time to time so am interested to see how that measures (havent got round to that yet though).I like the layout of the meter, the display is large and high contrast so is very easy to read. it shows the momentary decibel (dBA) as well as the temperature readout - I'm not sure whether temperature has any bearing on the sound pressure level. In use the meter could hardly be more simple - turn it on and point it in the gerneral direction of the noise you are measuring. The distance of the meter to the source of the sound is integral to the significance of reading but this meter only measures relative sound pressure levels. Its stated in the manual that the meter is calibrated in the factory - I compared the readings to ones measured on an app on my phone and both were almost the same so either both were within calibration or were both uncalibrated by the same amount. For adhoc measurements this is a good little meter, I live above a pub and they had a horrific Karaoke night recently which I measured at 83dBA which is apparently the same as someone shouting! I can tell you this, I'd rather that the 'singer' was shouting rather than murdering 'sweet child of mine' in the way they were!

Works a treat
The media could not be loaded. My old meter finally expired so this was ordered to replace it and I'm pleased to say that it is easier to operate and seemingly more accurate than its predecessor having tested it against one loaned to me.It doesn't get massive amounts of use, my main use case is establishing sound levels for products I review on YouTube, a task to which it is very well suited.

Accurate and reliable
The media could not be loaded. This decibel meter delivers accurate and reliable measurements, with a fast response time that captures sound levels effectively. I had a consistent performance across various places, from quiet rooms to noisy outdoor place. The MAX/MIN feature is particularly useful for monitoring fluctuations in sound levels over time.

Decent to give you a rough idea
Pros- well made- includes batteries (takes 3 x AAA though..)- reads pretty accurately at mid levels- buttons feel goodCons- screen has a weird visibility angle- mode goes through Max -> Min -> Hold- instructions aren't the best translation and a little confusingFor a general reading, this will do fine. Although the instructions to calibrate confuse me a little but maybe that's going I don't have the correct calibrating tool. It recommends to do this every year, but if calibrated from factory. It does pick up sound from pressing the buttons as when it was settled at 30dB (the lowest it will go) It was jumping up to 60+ with button presses. Although to be fair it's picking up typing sounds at around 50-55dB as I'm writing this. It'll do as a general reading machine but that's about all it's meant for. It seems to be fairly accurate as the readings for a typical conversation volume level is about right. Although because it jumps about so much and so quickly. You can't really get a mean or average volume level out of it. This is where the issue with Max/Min/Hold comes in. Hold shouldn't really be third here.. since the other two modes are adjustable based on the readings its getting. You can easily hold a min or max value as you're switching to hold mode. Should be a separate button for this, in my opinion. As a general dB checker, it's good. It'll give you a vague idea but since there's no average or mean mode, you can't actually find out where about it's sitting as sometimes it'll pick up the super loud peaks, other times it'll miss them, or at least not give them out as readings. The timer seems pointless as it does nothing but switches the thing off.The instructions are pretty lacklustre as the translations to English aren't great. I don't read other languages so I can't comment on those. It's an average experience overall from a brand I've never heard of until now so I'm assuming they're new. Not the best experience from Aicevoos for a first impression. Product itself is reasonable enough and if you're doing checks it'll be fine. For anything like constant reading, it's a bit hit and miss. Readings from a sitting position in front of monitors are obviously slightly different from it was sat at a slightly lower level on the desk (probably picking up what little sound vibrations are going through the desk as well to be fair) but it seems more like a tool to get a rough reading. For this sort of price though, I'd kind of expect the limitations this little dB meter has.If the instructions were more clear I'd have probably given it a 4 star as it does what it's meant to but it is lacking in too many areas for me to be comfortably able to give it that rating. So an average of 3 for me.

ideal for checking you're not making a nuisance of yourself
this is an excellent compact little decibel meter ideal for the home hobbyist to track noise levels in and around the home.often i'll find myself hoping that a task i'm doing is not being antisocially loud to my lovely neighbours as i have a range of hobbies which involve making some level of noise and it's not always apparent to yourself just how loud you're being.with this handy gadget i can now sanity check things that I perhap am worrying too much about and reassure myself that it's fine and if not wind my neck in a little so i'm not that person who everyone in the street talks about behind their back.it comes with batteries included and the interface and display are both clear and intuitive to understand and operate.i have nothing against which to compare the readings so i can't comment on it's accuracy but for my uses it's more than good enough as a guideline.very happy with it.

Not accurate at all
Tried a few different ways to see how loud my motorcycle was before a track day, this is not accurate at all.
