SMARTPHONE SAMSUNG A55 5G 256GB 6.5IN ANDROID 14

An upgrade from a A22 , wow what a difference, very fast, great screen, 256gb and a great price. Phone easy to setup . Software updated to Android 15 (personally I hate the AI on it ) so all in all a grate purchase so far.

My old phone a Samsung A32 5g of 4 years finally packed up on me so I looked around for a suitable replacement and I saw the Samsung A55 5g 256gb on offer on Amazon at an excellent price as my son in-law had bought the same phone several months before so I new it was an excellent phone with a very good build quality packed with so many features. Got my phone delivered very quickly in 2 days and was very well pleased. With the new up graded A56 5g coming out very soon to replace the A55 5g this phone is still worth getting and I highly recommend it.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the phone I received was NOT a UK version (it was defaulting to US Spanish) however it works fine and only required a couple of quick changes to change the language and keyboard to UK English. The phone itself is a decent mid range Samsung; not all the glitzy features in the S range but at less than half the price, I'm all for it! I could have gone for the A56, which does have better specs, but the deal breaker for me was that the A55 has a micro sd slot, whereas the A56 doesn't. I upgraded from the A54; the camera is essentially the same, but battery life and speed is definitely improved in this model. Again, no doubt even better in the A56, but I wasn't opting for that due to the absence of a memory card slot. Colour / brightness / screen is decent and less bleachy than the A54 is in really bright conditions

The phone is solidly made and looks nice. I ordered black but got Blue. Was going to send back and complain but to be honest the Blue looks very good. It performs ok and is very good value. Battery like is ok and the camera is more than adequate.

BUYER BEWARE... Samsung offer a 24 month warranty on SmartPhones...yeah? Nope...not on this one... Screen randomly failed - blank after 12 months, so approached Samsung for repair under their 24 month warranty. However, I was informed that the phone is not covered under their warranty as it was not manufactured in the EU! They would, however, graciously arrange a repair at a phenominal cost through a 3rd party repair service. You have been warned... (Just a thought...are ANY smartphones manufactured in the EU? Maybe this should be a question on The 1% Club)

I am in love with this phone! It works fine, way better than my last one. It's fast and easy to work with. I bought it a year ago and haven't had any complains yet. If you're looking for a decent priced phone, this is the one to go
