Most commonly found on V Brakes, U Brakes and Linear Pull Brakes.This style of nutted brake pad is found on most styles of bike including Mountain Bikes, Hybrid Bikes, Tandems, Folding Bikes and Touring Bikes. It is rare that they would be fitted on a Road Bike.Previous to this type of pad you used to have pads with a bare clamping pillar, these were suited to fit older style cantilever brakes.

For the price it is hard to fault them, but I would expect them to last longer. They are quite long and provide a large area of contact with the wheel. This provides good braking, but within six months they were worn out. Note that when they start to wear out they really go quickly. I was caught out by thinking that I had enough time to order new ones when I saw they were beginning to wear out.
