Quality slicker brush
This tiny slicker brush was great for testing my newly adopted dog's tolerance for brushing. He's a giant breed but really skittish about stuff coming at him, so having this small, no-frills, and inexpensive but quality brush was such a help in desensitizing him and reducing reactivity. Obviously, it's not a size that's particularly expedient for brushing such a large, 100+ pound dog, but it's been an important tool for us nonetheless. I'm certain that, for a small breed dog or even a cat, this slicker brush would be perfect for your everyday needs, especially after seeing it survive my particular situation!

Works as described, nicely constructed, good for small dog. Too small for a medium dog
Given that our household has 3 rescued canine companions, we are never at a loss for dog fur (or dog "glitter", as I prefer to call it) in our home and on our clothing. Shedding season calls for dog brushes that work and are comfortable for the dogs to love (or tolerate).This Tauro Proline classic wooden handled brush is well constructed and works as advertised. However, the "medium" is very small and is only useful on our small (23 lb dog).Trying to use it on our medium and/or large dog means much wasted energy and time, and lots of brush cleaning to complete the work. I was disappointed at what was considered to be a "medium" size, especially considering the pricepoint of the brush.The photos I provided show the size comparison of another medium brush I use in my brushing repertoire, compared to the Tauro. The measurements provided in the advertisement are in centimeters, so I have myself to blame for my expectations, given that I saw the word "medium" and I ignored those pesky centimeters that Americans love to ignore in favor of inch measurements.The brush is fine, and the bristles get the "glitter" out and give my canine companion a nice "scritch" which feels good, too. Best for a little dog.

Good brush, small handle
The actual brush is great. It is smaller (but is accurately described on Amazon). It's good for a smaller animal. My cat loves the bristles. I think it does a great job getting the hair. It's easier to get the hair off the brush if the brush is full. I have smaller hands and the brush handle is very small. When I'm brushing my cat, it irritates my carpal tunnel. I wish the handle was larger.

Tauro Dog Brush - The Brush is Impeccably Made with High Quality Materials, Albeit it is a Bit Small
I got the TAURO PRO LINE wooden dog brush to use on our grand pup. She just left us after an extended stay and we have been cleaning up her hair daily. I am hoping that I can brush her hair with this brush during her next visit and keep her shedded hair at bay.Everything about the brush states that the Tauro folks built an exquisite dog brush. The Tauro folks used high quality materials and assembly techniques. They nicely stained and finished the handle (which is too small for me) and they added the perfect tension to the bristles/teeth. The Tauro folks created an overall “premium quality” look (to borrow the terms noted on the packaging).I think that the brush will be effective. The main benefit for our grand pup will be the added attention that she will receive from my wife and me. Our grand pup is a rescue dog with hints of border collie, golden retriever, and about three other breeds. She is a medium-sized dog, and I suspect that we will only be able to partially brush her at any time during a brushing/loving session.{I wish that ALL ads would place a ruler or a coke can next to a product in one or more photos to give a buyer an immediate sense of size and scale.}

Perfect Size - for cats or small dogs!
This is a petite brush, so I wouldn't want to use it on a big dog, but it's perfectly sized for smaller dogs and for cats. It's excellent at gently removing undercoat and at picking up already loosened top coat strands. My cat likes the feel of the wire bristles, even around her face.Update after 3 months: This has become a go-to brush for my long haired cat. It's light weight and cat appropriate size make it easier to maneuver than other dog-turned-cat brushes I have, and my cats continue to enjoy how it feels. On a long haired cat it does a nice job of smoothing the top coat and works better at getting at the undercoat than I first thought - after about five minutes of continuous grooming it's usually full. I don't mind that, since the fur comes off the brush in a single, easy to remove clump and it's easy to pull it off and go back to brushing. On a short haired cat it fills up much more slowly. My short haired cat enjoys this brush, and I think it does a good job of smoothing and collecting loose hairs, but for rapid/high volume fur removal on a short haired cat I find a fine deshedding comb like a furminator to be more effective.

Tauro Proline pin brush
Brush is well made with decent bristles but that's where the positives end for me.I received a medium brush which is currently on sale for $20.79. This brush is tiny which makes it awkward to hold. It measures 5 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. The handle is only 3.75 inches long making it very difficult to hold the brush comfortably.

Good for smaller dogs.
I used this brush on both a short haired dog and long haired cat. It did a great job of collecting loose and shedding fur on both animals. It was easy to remove the collected fur from the bristles. My dog enjoyed the experience, and let me brush him thoroughly. However, the bristles were a bit too prickly for my cat, and he immediately tried to pull when I started brushing him. He tolerated it for about 30 seconds, then squirmed away.The brush head is on the smaller side, making it a good option for smaller dogs and cats who will tolerate it. I have a larger dog, so a larger brush head would make the task go more quickly.
