Pinocchio's Revenge [DVD] [1996] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC]

One of the best creepy doll movies
Pinocchio's Revenge - The Writer and Director, Kevin S Tenney as taken the killer doll genre to another level with this film, unlike Child's Play and the Puppet Master collection, in which the writers and directors have made these films so obvious that the toys are doing all the killings. Pinocchio's revenge isn't that obvious, basically an attorney inherits a wooded Marionette that resembles Pinocchio, taken from a man who she is defending against murder charges, the man being accussed of murdering his own son and other children. Though the attorney believes he wasn't responsable. The man who is also the doll creater goes to the electric chair, claiming he deserved it.The Wooden doll then ends up in the hands of the attorneys daughter, who becomes possessed with the doll. Believes it to be talking to her and commiting crimes. Crimes in which include injuring and killing people related or hated by the little girl. The girl along with the doll always being at the crime scene. The girl always claiming to be trying to stop the doll from killing. The beauty of this film being, is the doll doing the killing or is it the troubled girl? The director brings the film to a dramatic end in which you will have to make up you own mind.A true shocker.Only problem being its a region 1 film and not avalable on region 2Highly recommended, if you like the killer doll genre or just enjoy a good creepy film.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY PINOCCHIO?
The film is so formula you can guess what will happen by reading the title. For those who have never seen "Chucky" or can't get enough of it, check this oldie but goodie out. I'll go through the formula plot, except for the killings and ending. The film opens with a man (Lewis Van Bergen) burying his son and the doll. He had made the doll. Jennifer (Rosalind Allen) is the public defendant who ends up with the doll through a series of improbable events. Her daughter Zoe (Brittany Alyse Smith) whose acting career died a few years after this film, ends up with the doll and an unhealthy attachment. David (Todd Allen) is her landscaper and Jennifer likes how he plants his seeds. Sophia (Candace McKenzie) is the live in au pair who showers fully naked because Rosalind Allen will only give us about 5 frames of brief nudity. The puppet had piercing blue eyes and looked a bit more formidable than the original Chucky (not the one with the sew marks). The film was overly predictable as you pretty much knew who was going to "get it" and why. Zoe is psychologically upset over her parents separation and one questions is it her or the doll and either way, it has been done before.Guide. No F-bombs. Sex and nudity...thanks Candace. 3 1/2 stars
