For reasons unbeknownst to me, almost all of these batteries on amazon that are listed as being compatible with the Sony DCR-HC21 [specifically] have all failed. All of them work with the DCR-HC20, but not DCR-HC21, even though both are listed as being compatible! This one though? Stellar. Batteries hold a charge and work for BOTH models. I did notice the charger gets a bit hot when charging them, but I usually charge through the cameras anyway so that's not an issue for me.

Looks like a good product. Unfortunately my Sony camera seems to not allow non-Sony batteries so I need to return it. Check this. If your camera will take it, it is a good product.

I've got lots of home movies but didn't have a working camcorder to transfer them to digital. I bought a used one from Mercari that worked but the battery was no good. Now with this I have two new batteries that seem to work well in my "new" camcorder. I was shocked they were so reasonably priced.

Used these for my handycam and they work just like the original battery. Easier to charge as well. Plus additional battery gives me longer time to record.

both are good batteries they don't hold a charge as long as they should though but would still recommend

This saved my bacon! Easy to use and worked to recharge my original battery. Batteries worked, too.

Did not fit my Sony DVR, ad copy specifically stated battery was a direct replacement. Returned for refund and notified Amazon of copy error.
