This is way higher quality than I expected for the price. It's still MDF but the veneer on it is higher quality than you'd get from most low to mid range furniture stores. It was fairly easy to assemble. Complaints about the doors on the front not getting close enough are unfounded since you can adjust the hinges to bring them closer.I wish the walnut colored one came with gold handles but I was able to find exact matches to swap the black ones out.My only complaint is the screw that holds the hinge mechanism was very messed up. The Phillips indent was way off to the side and it's impossible to drive. Fortunately I don't plan on ever flipping that side up so it's not going to cause me problems.

The design is pretty great for the price. Building it was simple and to me fun, like a Lego kit. I really like the doors with the “vinyl” look to them.

I like the overall quality of the product, but I found it terribly difficult to assemble. There are way too many small, barely drilled holes for tiny wood screws that I think aren’t robust enough for the door hinges and legs. The doors require a lot of adjustment to look and work symmetrically.Additionally, the backing cover for the stand was missing. When I called Amazon customer service, I was told that I would receive an email from the vendor regarding next steps, which never happened.

The only downside for me was that the particle board started to break apart easily when installing the hinges for the cabinet doors; a more careful hand than mine might not have that issue, though. The center foot also stripped out the particle board almost immediately, but the other four feet are installed with sturdy plates making it stand on its own just fine without the center foot

I was concerned after reading some of the reviews but this was exactly the record/CD player cabinet that I was looking for. It is large enough to hold a decent size turntable with plenty of storage for CD's and Albums. Not to mention that the style fits perfectly in my room. The box was in pretty rough shape after FedEx delivered it but the packaging was sufficient to prevent damage to the cabinet pieces. The assembly was typical for this type of furniture and the directions were laid out well. If you can turn a screwdriver, this will go together easily. I never use power tools for this type of assembly. It is too easy to over tighten and cause damage. The extra time spent is worth the results. If this cabinet suits your needs, I highly recommend it.
