6 Suites for Viola (originally for Cello). (Music for Viola)

In great condition, book was smartly delivered in strong cardboard to avoid bending damages.As a violist, this transcription is used by my teacher so there's not much I can comment on. But the reason why I think this copy is useful is because Watson provided both versions of the important bowings from the original manuscripts provided by Johann Peter Kellner and Anna Magdalena Bach. Some of the other bowings provided were based on Watson's interpretation and can be open for debate.

This is the ultimate set of works for any viola player from Grade 5 on. Sublime Bach!

Great transposition

Have had many many many hours of pleasure playing Bachs cello suites on my viola when I want a little change from the violin to the beautiful rich and sonorous timbres of the viola!

I brought this book after a recommendation from my music tutor and I love it! The suites range from slightly easier to more challenging which provides you with new tunes for when you progress. Most pieces are recognisable and have delightful rhythms and tunes which make playing them so enjoyable!
