“Prayers to the Holy Spirit” by Hur Horton is a teacher of communication with God, a collage of powerful prayers in times of need. It accentuates the fact that we ought to be humble enough to know we don’t have what it takes to make it through life’s unexpected difficulties and earn the boldness to go before God for help. It is well-written and very informative about who we are, as children of God, and what we need to do to remain in constant communication with him. I highly recommend reading this book. It is good!

I love prayer books. Kierkegaard and Tersteegen are my favorites, but I’m always looking for a good one. In Prayers to the Holy Spirit, Hur Horton has created a first rate volume of prayers. Prayer books must be sincere above all. Horton’s sincerity is unassailable. It’s obvious that many of these prayers were created in moments of despair or loneliness or pain or anger or crushing disappointment or other moments of quiet desperation. There’s nothing contrived or artificial in these naked pleas for strength, faith, patience, compassion and many other virtues Christian look to the Holy Spirit to help them with. I’ll be looking to this lovely book for consolation for many years to come.

This is a different sort of prayer book. The author uses contemporary language and concepts. I love all of the various intentions from which to choose. The typeset is easy to read. The prayers are a perfect length to allow for simple contemplation. The energy of Divine Love that is shared in the book is so inspirational The author truly allowed the Holy Spirit to speak to us through his writings. This will be one of my daily prayer and meditation companions. Thank you Hur for such a lovely book.

Filled with prayers that honor and seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. My favorite is the “Prayer for Humility and Selflessness.” It's a comforting reference for those looking to deepen their spiritual connection and find peace through prayer.
