LifeStraw Sip – Reusable Stainless Steel Water Filter Drinking Straw

Peace of mind in a sturdy, portable package. I've carried my LifeStraw around in my everyday backpack for months. It comes with me everywhere - even through the airport! It takes up almost no space. The slim case sits perfectly at the bottom of my laptop sleeve in my pack. Just pop the cap off and slide the straw out. Simple as can be. It's great for every day use but really shines in giving you peace of mind for the "what ifs". If you're at all "prepper" oriented or often find yourself deep in the woods, you need to get yourself one of these. It's an investment that might just save your life...or at the very least save you from a paper straw!

I really like the idea behind the LifeStraw Sip, and it worked great at first. Totally my fault, but I left it out to dry and ants ended up crawling into the straw — definitely user error! Still, it’s a bit frustrating because I was just trying to avoid mold by drying it outside, but that made it prone to contamination. I used it during a trip to Southeast Asia and didn’t get sick, so it clearly does its job. It was super convenient to carry in my sling bag and much more compact than my old plastic LifeStraw water bottle, which was bulkier and harder to pack. My only concern is about long-term use. It’s advertised as reusable, but what happens when the filter wears out after a year? For the price, I wish it could last longer or have replaceable filters. I took off one star for that reason. I’d love to find a way to remove the filter and just use the stainless steel straw — maybe even as a boba straw!

Great product, fast shipping

My job is within a county jail with not the best water system available. We do have water, but the pipes are old, and thus I needed a device to thwart the bad taste of the water. Enter the Lifestraw Sip. A true lifesaver when water products are needed, and yet not available. This, my friends works. If it can make county jail water taste better, than it certainly can work somewhere else around the world.

I drank from a stream and didn't get food poisoning, what else is there to say? I take this straw with me whenever I go hiking or backpacking and it has never let me down. The water doesn't have a funky taste after coming through the straw and it doesn't feel like I'm sucking a golf ball through a garden hose when I use it either. It is very easy to use and I also love the fact that it is stainless steel. It feels much more sturdy than other life straws that are plastic and feels like there is a lot more attention to quality in these straws.

It’s just way too big to be practical. If you’re traveling you need compact. This things like the size of bottom par of my arm. Not convenient at all. I purchased a water bottle instead.
