Discover the timeless Quranic teachings in Marmaduke Pickthall's acclaimed English translation, renowned for its meticulous accuracy and clarity. Ideal for all readers. Review: Good translation, easy to read, and I never knew there was a Surah on the Roman Empire! - I really liked that each Surah is listed in the table of contents making it very easy for the reader to find whatever they are looking for. The Islamic name and the English translation of the Surah are both included, so it’s easy for the reader to understand what that Surah is about. For example, Surah 30 Ar-Rum is about The Roman Empire. In fact, I never realised each Surah covered a specific topic and that there was one covering the Roman Empire. The English translation is actually fairly easy to understand, which is quite an achievememnt considering it’s a translation of not only a foreign language (Arabi) but olde world syntax. The book is well formatted, and the translation is very well done, making it easy to read and understand. Review: A good translation, I believe... - I saw some comments that other readers found this translation confusing, because it was done in old english, as it should be to be in tune with the era that it was first made accessible to the public as a whole. I had no problem reading it at all. I am in my 50s, so know how to read, a skill that seems to be heavily diluted in these modern times...

Lacks Original Arabic Text
I cannot recommend this edition as it only includes the English text. For the preservation and authenticity of the Holy Quran, it is essential to have the original Arabic text alongside the translation. This version misses that crucial aspect, which is important for proper understanding and reverence.

The Word Of Allah
I have really enjoyed reading the Quran in English. I have read the Quran I Arabic however I am not an Arabic speaker so I am not able to understand the Quran in Arabic. So it is really good that Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall has translated this version. And everything is good about it. The context is all the Quran I have compared it with Quran.Com however it's style is old English and it appears very similar to the Bible in its writing style such as the word Lo appears a number of times. Overall it's a great read and something I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to gain a broader understanding of the part Islam plays in all the major religions of the world.

Got it as a kindle E-Book, is such a good translation im now buying a physical copy. This is an old translation.. u could say old english.. thats what makes it more authentic properly depicting the word of god.. i highly recommend for those who want a true understanding of the word of Allah

The translation is a bit old i think? There are alot of words that i can’t understand and i was told that it was old english?

This kindle edition is cleanly laid out and easy to follow, split into chapters and arranged into stanzas. Like most holy texts, it's a dry read, but better than most. There's some beautiful imagery and passages. And unusually, it draws from a lot of other religions, which I found unusual... For instance, there are multiple mentions of Moses and Jesus. All in all, a great option for an English translation.

Without a doubt, this is a great book. Excellent in-depth translation. Good formatting. I think these books should be on my bookshelf. The book contains an explanation of terms and phrases so that the reader can understand the full depth of the ancient text. I'm pleased with the purchase. Alas, I didn’t read it long enough, it’s the kind of book that, after reading a few pages it takes a couple of days to understand. However, owning this publication calms me; sometimes, I re-read some chapters. I think it will help me in my study of world religions.
