Very nice case, BUT.....
Bought the 46" for my AR-10 with scope. The case is very well made, very well padded, stiffness in all the right places, BUT.... the mag pouches (one of the reasons why I bought it) are worthless. They are way too small to fit any rifle mag other than a .22 or a 9mm. What good are the pouches if you can't use them? I didn't think about that when I bought it since Armalite sells the same bag on their website, one woud think since they make .223 and .308 rifles the darn pouches are big enough for their mags...... guess not.CONCLUSION: I'm looking around for a comprable bag, if found this baby is going back no matter how much I like the case itself.EDIT: Looked on Armalite's web site again about the bag.. they claim a .223 mag will fit.... don't see how since the pouches are small and I don't have a .223 mag to test it.ADDITIONAL INFO:Emailed Galati International about the small pouches. Here's the reply:"Hello Mr Yocum,Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We checked, and it looks like on the last production run, they did make the mag pouches a bit smaller in error. It will be addressed in our next production run, but unfortunately that is not scheduled until the end of July/early August."I asked if they has a .308 version"No, we don't offer a different version. However, the older versions of this case did fit the .308 mags. And the next production run will fit the .308 mags as well.If you can wait, we can just switch it out for you when we do our next production run. However, it won't be until the end of summer."Guess I'll put the bad back in the box and wait to get it replaced by them directly, instead of dealing with shipping it back to Amazon.com get a refund and then repurchase it from Galati International.

it looks great! My problem
Just received this rifle case today, checked mag pouches first because one of the reviews said they were to tight, those were not a problem. Checked the whole bag out, it looks great! My problem, I purchased this as a gift for my brother because he liked my rifle case, different brand than this one, but he liked it because it has 5 mag pouches on it, it's compact and not bulky. I told him I would find a case like mine for him, no problem, and I thought I did, till I opened the box! The picture showed 5 mag pouches, the case has 4, which I see to the left of me as I am writing this review, but the main picture had 5, so that is false advertising and there was nothing saying it only had 4. Well, too late to send it back, hopefully my brother isn't too upset with the case I got him for Christmas, after all, it does float and mine doesn't.I went back and looked again to see if the ad said anything about the mag pouches, and there it is in all caps and bold letters, FOUR! They still need to change the picture I saw when I was purchasing this case, it's misleading.

It "feels" like it is upside down. Mag pouch very tight for M1A mags
This bag is well constructed and has adequate padding. The construction seems very sturdy.BUT...I know this is gonna sound a bit strange, it's upside down. This was purchased for an M1A with a Basset Machine rail type scope mount and a Trijicon AccuPoint 2.5-10x56 30mm Rifle scope TR22-G (Green Dot). The only way this rifle will fit comfortably is if it is put scope down in the bag. When you try to set the bag down it puts the weight of the rifle (substantial) on the scope, and of course with the angle of the bag on the bottom, it doesn't set down very well. Now this may not make a huge difference to some of you, but with a $800 + scope. I have this sort of phobic thing about putting it upside down in the bag.The pocket for other items holds my collapsible bi-pod OK, bit it's a bit tight, and will not fit in the bag mounted.Because it is upside down, the butt of the rifle sits in a sorta odd position. If you turn the rifle over, it barely fits due to this configuration.Additionally with the rifle right side up, the but sits against and rubs the butt stock on the zipper. Result, a scratched butt stock. This is a -1 MOA match grade gun and is pretty pricy. It's not the most beautiful thing in the world but it is one of my favorite rifles, 20+ years old, ~14 lbs and I will say the scratch from the zipper was pretty irritating. If it was a compost stock, it wouldn't matter but it is Walnut and like I said, heavy. "This is my rifle, there are many others like it, but this one is mine" and this one, is a lot more accurate than the others I have shot.I took 2nd place against the Texas State Highpower champ several years ago at my very first and only, Highpower match. Not bad, but boring, at least to me. I like USPSA much better, but that is another story. (Move over G. David Tubb, yeah right. :-) )The case is really too big for my AR in the length I got, 47" I believe it is, so it will likely end up sitting or sold to somebody that this does not bother. In short if the orientation of the rifle doesn't bother you, you should be fine, if it does well I guess you go to a hard case as I did, or a bag that is upright.Like I said, this is a little strange to be picky about the orientation of the rifle I guess, but I would have bought something else if I had thought about it a bit more.Shoot well.Gun control is a ragged hole.

Solid AR Bag
This is a very, very sturdy bag.I own an M4 and run it with a Grip Pod and a 1/3 co-witnessed mini-red dot. These two accessories combined with a 30 round mag make the rifle deeper, from top to bottom and therefore, tougher to stow in a typical AR bag. When using the other bags I own (a 5.11 Tactical two rifle soft padded bag...which is excellent when I have to transport two rifles) and the ones I have owned in the past to transport my AR (several Ace bags), I've needed to take out the mag, remove the Grip Pod in order to close the zipper completely. That is annoying. Not with the Galati. It fits perfectly...Grip Pod, mag, and Red-Dot...and there is room to spare.5.56mm 30 round mags fit perfectly. I saw someone mention that they didn't, but I put 5 Magpul 30 round mags in the five mag pouches, and they fit snug, but they were easy (relativity) to extract and insert. This bag is very well-made. The padding is very good. It suites my needs perfectly (recreational shooter).Don't spend $15-20 less and get 1/4 the bag, just buy this one and enjoy.
