Great looking and functional addition for our deck
Our 10 year old 10 x 10 soft-top gazebo didn't survive the winter we had, so we were forced to look for a replacement. After lots of research - comparing delivered prices, reading reviews, and watching videos - we decided on the 10 x 12 Horizon by Modern Shade. It came to us well packed, in three separate boxes (one box was delivered a day before the other two). Each box was approx. 130 pounds, so you will probably need help moving them around. The contents of roof panels box were reinforced with a wood border around the inside, held together with metal corners and support rods.Set aside some time to assemble this. Each box contains an inventory sheet. Go through the box and make sure all your contents are there and not damaged. I suggest laying the parts out according to box near where you will be assembling the gazebo. This process alone took my wife and I about an hour to complete. A couple of tips: 1) take the largest quantity of the bolts and washers off their cardboard backing and put them in labeled plastic cups to make them easier to access quickly. 2) get a battery powered driver/drill and the proper size magnetic Allen bit, or bit socket for those bolts. It will save your wrists (and time) from manually turning the dozens of bolts with the supplied Allen wrenches - they supply two.My wife and I spent the next 2 hours on Saturday beginning assembly. My brother-in-law joined us for about 6 hors on Sunday. So, it took us about 8 hours to assemble with 2 and 3 people. Three people aren't necessary for assembly, but really come in handy when trying to attach the top frame border to the four legs while they are standing upright. The last assembly tip is to leave the roof frame bolts hand tight until you have installed all the roof panels. This will greatly help in being able to line up all the bolt holes for the roof panels. Once they are all installed go back and tighten everything.Once the bug netting and solar lights were installed, we got to enjoy our new, larger gazebo! So far it's great. Keeps the sun off during the hottest part of the day, and the rain off during light showers. The bug netting is a great feature we didn't have with the old gazebo. For the price, we're very happy with the quality and function of this gazebo and wouldn't hesitate to recommend other Modern Shade brand products in the future.

An honest, but long review from start to finish
This review will cover everything I've dealt with from ordering to contacting the company I purchased it from. After searching for over a year, I stumbled upon this Modern Shade Hardtop Gazebo. Ordering was a simple as you would expect from Amazon. I knew there would be an extra cost for shipping, which I didn't mind because I was still ahead of the game in pricing. I purchased the 10 x 10 hardtop gazebo from Skytech Outdoor back in June. Quickly after I ordered the gazebo, Skytech Outdoor reached out to me letting me know that this would be shipped in 3 pieces and if I ran into any issues, to contact them. I thought that that was reassuring in the item I purchased. I didn't get a chance to build the gazebo until late October. I was missing one part, which I contacted Skytech Outdoor about. They quickly returned my email and sent a new hardware package to me. Unfortunately, the piece that I was looking for, wasn't in that hardware package. I contacted Skytech Outdoor again letting them know the part wasn't included in what they sent me. Again, they returned my email within hours apologizing for the mistake and will look into it. Skytech Outdoor has kept me in the loop of what was going on and has sent the part that I need. Again apologizing for the inconveinence. I'm still waiting on the part as it was just sent out this morning. Thankfully, it was not a structual piece. Now onto the gazebo.I thought the gazebo was package very secure for shipping. It did come in 3 boxes, as stated in my original email from Skytech Outdoors. The boxes were a bit heavy for one person to lift, so be careful if you try to move them yourself. I'd recommend a hand truck or extra person to assist. The instructions were pretty much straightforward. There were a couple steps that I had to jump forward on, to see how the piece went together. I always said, "if I don't do it 2-3 times, is there any sense in building at all?" I did build it in one try. I thought the instructions could've been a little clearer or the pictures showing more of a closeup on some steps. If you pay attention to the screw holes in the diagrams, you should not have any issues. Erecting the legs with the top rails. I do recommend have 3 people to help. My wife and I completed this step and we're still married. It was tough, but we did it. All the screws are an allen wrench head. There are 2 allen wrenches included with the hardware, but it was easier on the hands to use a battery operated screw gun with the torque down to 17 or so. There were some screws that I had to use the full torque, but not many. All the screw holes lined up as they should, which was a pleasant surprise. I'm 5' 8" and was able to install the very top roof rails and panels using a 6' step ladder. I did end up switching to an 8' step ladder to install the lower roof panels from the outside perimeter. The parts that were missing in my order, are the plastic plugs that hold the top of the lower roof in place so it doesn't flop around. If it were me, I'd just use threaded inserts like the rest of the contruction has. They give you extra bolts and washers just in case one goes to the way side. That was a nice addition too. The completion took me a few days, but I did a little at a time. This can easily be built in one day. My only regret, I wish I ordered a larger one.Contacting Skytech Outdoors - 5 starsShipping packaging - 5 starsInstructions - 4 starsEase of building - 4 starsLooks - 5 stars.Hopefully you find this review helpful and I would definiately purchase from this company again.Tom B

Excellent Gazebo for the Money
This was a pleasure to build (and I built it by myself). The directions were clear and concise. The design is good and I really liked that concrete anchors were provided with the gazebo. The only issues that prevented me giving this a 5 out of 5 star review were one of the gazebo posts had some minor damage in shipping (not enough to warrant the time it would have taken to get a replacement), the product picture shows stylish arched pole to roof supports but what you get is simple angle supports, and finally, it would be better if the curtain rods ran the length of a single side rather than being broken into 2 per side.

Great quality and great looking gazebo
Very impressed with the product. Was fairly easy to assemble. Very great quality product. One of the boxes was missing two minor parts that held the mosquito netting , but I was able to call the product customer service and they were very quick, helpful, and responsive in sending me replacement parts very quickly. I’m very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend.
