Check your clearance height
I see low reviews on here because people didn't think to check the height of their vehicle at the jack point. The height of this jack starts at 8" so if you have a car with lower height than this, you need to look for a different jack that's just a little under the car clearance height. Not too much less though, because this only goes up a little over 7" and you need to get your tire off the ground. Also, consider and leave room for a jack pad. The round top is small and only somewhat slotted, and I'd worry about it slipping off the frame rail, or possibly bending it. I got the "ABN 5-½in Large Jack Pad Universal Fit Cross Slotted Frame Rail Protector". This combo works great with my 2014 Subaru Forester, which has a clearance height of 8.7". I guess if you have a higher truck you could use a board underneath, but I'd be a little uneasy about the stability. Like all jacks, don't get under the vehicle unless you put it under jack stands. Jacking up my Subie is soooo much quicker and easier with this bottle jack over the scissors jack that comes with the car. I have a set of mounted winter tires so I'm not using jack stands that you might want if you are just rotating a set of tires. To lower the car it does a controlled release when you turn the lowering valve counterclockwise. But it only lowers it until the weight is off, and with that jack pad I found it just a little difficult to get the lift out from under the car. The demo video is shown without a car, and they just put a hand on the top to show how the lift lowers. I thought if I could lift the jack from the bottom against the frame it would lower it the rest of the way, but that didn't work for me. I think the rubber jack pad had enough flex for me to get the jack out but I only tried it once. The demo video is a bit odd in that it shows them turning the value a lot more than the 1/2 turn that the manual says to do. Not sure which way is right. I guess I'll turn it only as much as needed to lower it. To raise it, you turn it clockwise until it stops.

Good size for use on a 4 post car lift
Nice, compact but strong bottle jacks. These are decent to use on a 4 post car lift, they're short enough to be of use directly on the runways, but with the screw out center posts, still tall enough to be useful in the "jack tray" (dropped crossmember that spans the two side runways). Ideally they would have been slightly shorter to use on the runways and slightly taller for the jack tray, but a pair of these are about as useful as one size of jacks could be. They're handy for other uses around the garage, but because the footprint is so small it's more important that the ground be flat and fairly level to avoid tipping then over. Like any other bottle jack. Recommended for the price, physical size and capacity.

Good buy
Haven't got to really "use" it yet. Got it unboxed and read the instructions. Just pumped it up on the countertop. Lifts up quick and smooth. Usually only use jacks when something on one of our trucks needs work. A flat tire or a brake job. But when you need a vehicle lifted to do work you usually need it now, or sooner. May take it out and jack up one of the trucks just for the heck of it. Probably won't ever need to lift 4 tons, but remember the old saying that starts of better to have it and not need it..... It looks good. Clean and packaged nice for a garage tool. Better than I had expected, actually. Can't beat the price, and everything I've gotten from Amazon has been just right, and of good quality.

Gets the job done. Easy to pump.
Used it to raise one wheel on full sized pickup. Worked fine. Easy to pump and lowered like it should when released.

Great Value
I am using these to help jack up my house they are just the right size and I made some plates with a keeper out of 1/4" plate steel and cookies of pipe so they don't push into the wood. They are easy to raise and lower and the handles are well made. These were the cheapest jack option I could find and at 4 tons they are able to lift with out being so big you can break things. Overall I am really pleased with these. Of course they will leak off eventually but that is expected you just need a lot of blocks or jack stands.

BROKE ON THE 1ST USE!!!
Do NOT recommend. I bought this two years ago and have never used it. It's just been stored in my garage. Today I took it out to use on a 12' travel trailer. (Small trailer, <2000lb TOTAL. Tongue weight less than 500lbs). I used it once to lift the tongue weight to remove the wheel from the trailer jack. Lowered it back down. All good. Then I went to use it a 2nd time to reset the trailer jack and it would NOT lift. NOTICED OIL LEAKING OUT AROUND THE PISTON!!! (See picture.) Tried to fix it. Thought it might be air in the jack (which would NOT make sense), but bled it anyway. No go. It's leaking on the seal around the piston and is totally unusable. Waste of money. I'm SO glad I wasn't on the road somewhere depending on this thing! This was junk and I'm sure I won't get my money back as it's been too long since purchase. DO NOT BUY!!!
