The Crystal Cat Litter is easily the BEST solution for the drum-type automatic litter box that we use. Only the solid waste is coated and removed when the litter box cycles, and the removed waste has enough crystal coating to eliminate the associated odors. The crystals also "roll" smoothly as the drum rotates, spreading out evenly instead of leaving hills and valleys, and there are no lumps sticking to the sides or bottom of the drum. However, the real magic occurs with urine control! The urine is simply absorbed by the litter and is not removed from the box - but the odor control is so effective that one 7-8# charge continues to be odor-free for more than 14 days with our two 16# cats and the box cycling only a couple of times/day. By then, the litter is just starting to turn yellow-greenish and we just empty the drum and replace the litter. There is less dust than we've found with other litters, and the larger crystals have less of a tendency to stick to paws and be tracked around the house. It's not the cheapest solution, but for the best odor-control and minimum effort in a small apartment, this can't be beat!

Have tried other Crystal cat litters, but this brand really seems to be the most absorbent and long lasting. Helps the most with control as well. Works great in our Scoopfree automatic litter box, but could be used in a regular box as well.

I ordered this because the fine-grain Skoon litter my cat likes has been out of stock since the beginning of September, both here and on their own website. I keep an extra bag on hand but finally used that up and needed something! This is made from the same stuff (diatom pebbles), so I was cautiously optimistic. It's also less expensive: $20 for 8 lbs, where Skoon is $30 for 8 lbs. At first glance, it looks very similar to Skoon's fine grain product, with pebbles the same size but more color variety in the mix. I noticed a slight smell when pouring it into the clean litter pan. Not a bad smell, just different from the plain neutral dry dirt smell of Skoon. The first time my cat went in to use it, she had a lot to say about it - literally, she stepped in, sniffed around and came right back out without using it and meowed at me for a few minutes while I apologized and explained that the people didn't have her regular one so I had to get this one for now. She grudgingly decided to use it 😆 This one is low tracking, about like the Skoon fine-grain. It does not control odor as well as the Skoon brand. I used the same quantity/depth in the litterbox as I do for Skoon, which would last two full weeks with odor well controlled, and even into a third week by adding some zeolite sprinkles (NonScents) after stirring/scooping. I had to start using the zeolite with the Pet Safe litter after six days, and fully change and clean the box on day 11, as the ammonia smell was just overwhelming, and my cat pottied in the atrium in protest. I was scooping poop and stirring the pebbles at least once daily, as I did with the Skoon, but this one just did not hold up. Since Skoon fine-grain is *still* out of stock, I ordered another bag of this one, and will just plan to use a little less to stretch it, and will have to fully change the box every week instead of 2x/month.

Hands down the best litter I’ve ever used. I will never go back to clay litter. It’s so messy and stinky… this is 10x better and the dust is significantly less. It’s safe for the cats and doesn’t stink. It’s seriously the best.

Finally, a cat litter product that does not smell! I will say though, that your cat will still track a bit out, but not as bad as regular litter and will hold longer! Super easy to use! Zero dust!

Works very well but very dusty. I started getting concerned when one of my cats developed a bit of a cough. I switched back to a clay litter. Worked wonders though for smell.

My cats loved pooping in this stuff. All jokes aside, its easier to scoop than regular litter, and theres no dust. It lasts a good while before it needs to be changed.

I have one elderly cat with dilute pee and somehow this litter STILL manages to absolutely reek after 6 days of use, even with the recommended "stirring" to mix it together for better absorption. Sorry, but if I'm paying $41 for what equates to 2 weeks of litter, it should be stirring itself. Absolutely not buying this again, moving to the poowee brand which is a lot cheaper, bigger bags and has much better reviews. Gave it a real go for a few months but it's just not living up to its promises.

Love love love this litter! You don’t need the automatic litter box to buy this litter! If you have multiple cats or even just one this should be your go to litter. No smell, no gross clumping of urine, and best of all it LASTS FOREVER! Three cats and I change the litter every two weeks and it could probably go longer. My cats love it but not nearly as much as I do, with this litter you don’t even know there’s three cats in the apartment and I live in a studio loft! Trust me make the switch to this litter and you’ll never go back your regular expensive as heck litter. You won’t regret it!

I was using other crystals before which the cats did not like. They cats don’t seem to love this one either. The sometimes use the litter box and other times poop on the floor in front of it. If you have picky cats it may not work

It didn't work as expected in the automatic Pet Safe cat litter. My cats were okay with it.

I’ve been using this litter for the past few years and fully stand behind this product. I purchased an automatic cat litter box with reusable trays, and this litter has been a perfect match. I’ve also signed up for Subscribe & Save, which makes the process even easier since it’s one less thing to worry about. The litter rakes easily and doesn’t have a strong odor. While my mom, who is extremely sensitive to smells, can still notice the litter box, she agrees it’s far less noticeable than before. This litter is also much more affordable overall. The brand I previously used cost about $40 per month, whereas this one works out to roughly $15 per month.
