Check the fuel keg before the return window closes
I think this is a great product. If you frequently use 1 Lb propane cylinders this will save you money and keep disposables out of the landfill. That said, I purchased the fill kit which came with 1 fuel keg and I purchased an additional fuel keg so I would have 2. The one that came with the fill kit worked flawlessly. I will need to refill it soon so I went to fill the 2nd fuel keg that was purchased separately. The bleeder valve does not work. It will not open to allow trapped air out so propane will not go in. I should have checked it sooner. The return window closed 25 days ago so I will have to call customer service tomorrow and hope they will replace the bad bottle.Update: Customer service was excellent. Unlike others on Amazon it was hassle free, no delay tactics, no ridiculous hoops to jump through. The gentleman I spoke with was able to identify the issue quickly and had a solution to the problem. It was nice to speak with someone who understands their products and stands behind them.

Safe, top them all the way off!
I have been refilling disposable bottles for years with cheap neck fill adapters. This is a BIG upgrade. I will never buy another bottle of propane. I bought 4 of these, love them so much i bought 8 more! These are great, works woth the custom refill adapter, same brand. The vent release only works while filling, no risk of it venting any other time. You must use the custom filler and no other will work. There is a safety detent pin that overrides the bottles vent pin to the vent valve. There is still a safety pressure relief valve on the bottle. These are high quality and will be inherited by my grandkids some day. I bought magnetic stem protectors and carry case, thise are not included. They did come with good sturdy plastic caps. I never write long reviews, to do so on a propane bottle speaks volumes. These things can be topped of to your liking. They really hold a max volume of LPG. maximizing your time. I burn a lantern on max for 8 HOURS on 1 bottle. This has changed my camping style. I cannot go without these. If you disposable propane bottles see these and don't buy them your messing up. Buy them now.

5 Star Product - 1 Star Customer Service
This is a great product! As you can see from many of the negative reviews, there can be some re-filling issues that are blamed on poorly designed vent valves etc. I had several of these tanks that would vent for 1-2 seconds and then stop abruptly. I cut one of them open to see how the valve system worked from the inside. What I found was a very simple and well engineered valve system with no apparent reason for the mysterious vent shutdown. Upon reflection I have a theory. The venting and rapid expansion of the vapor causes a instant and dramatic temperature drop of the entire brass valve. If there is any moisture present around the internal vent mechanism it flash freezes stopping the venting process. After a few fills of each tank there is bound to be some humid air carried into the tank (think of the ambient air in the filling unit being pushed into the tank ahead of the propane on the first tank filled). I had 3 tanks that would not fill last Friday - today (Sunday) all three filled easily.Bottom line - if you have tanks that won't fill, give them a rest and try again once they have warmed up a bit. There's probably nothing wrong with the Fuel Keg.So, why the 1 Star for customer service?Customer service does not acknowledge my emails so I assume they get a lot of complaints about this issue and their solution is to ignore their customers. Says a lot about the company.

Beware of that bleeder valve. Either poorly designed or a lack of quality control at the factory.
The fuel keg bottle is well built and very solid. You could probably bounce it off the ground without putting a dent in it, but, I wouldn't recommend it. It might go "Boom". The brass connector is really solid also. But, that bleeder valve. Oh! That bleeder valve! I've purchased eight of these bottles , two from this vendor, and four from a local vendor. I've already had to return two bottles because of that bleeder valve. I had no problem getting the defective bottle replaced from the Amazon vendor, nor one bottle from my local vendor. The Amazon return was quick and easy. Just make sure that you vent all of the propane from your bottle before you return it. But, my issue is with that cheaply made bleeder valve. It appears that the little piece that turns to open the bleeder valve is made of some type of aluminum or pot metal. It can already be white with oxidation when you receive the bottle. Several of my "new" bottles were in that condition. One that I bought stopped working at the first opening of the bleeder valve. It hissed with escaping air for about one second and then stopped like it was clogged. I bought another one that worked the very first time that I filled the bottle. The second time I tried to fill it, it started venting, and then just stopped. It was like the turn valve just snapped off intrnally. It would never open again when I turned the valve. So, the Fuel Keg folks need to take another look at their design and make the bleeder valve a little more robust. In the mean time, I would recommend being gentle when trying to open the bleeder valve. You can't force it. It either opens or it doesn't. Just start filling the bottle, and turn on the bleeder valve until you hear it hissing, and hold it there until it's filled. Don't over turn the valve. The good thing is that they can be returned if defective. And when they do work, they work very well, and they make refilling the bottle a quick and easy task.

Great item.
I like it,easy to refill and don’t need to look a tool for the bleeder valve. Ended up purchasing the the refill valve for these cause the universal ones don’t work with these tanks.

Careful with the white insert and O ring
These are great tanks, however each time I refill them the little white plastic insert and O ring comes off and stay on the refill unit. I called the company today and they informed me that there is a kit to solve this problem and they are sending them to me. Great customer service!!
