Great Resource for Motivated Young Adults
Executive functioning skills are the keys to reaching your maximum potential in life. Everyone is on a path from 0 to 100 in each of these skill areas. Obviously children score very low in each of these areas. As they mature, they climb the ladder to attaining mastery of these skills. Many people only reach a cursory skill level in many of these areas. It’s often a case of “they don’t know what they don’t know” or, in some cases, they simply refuse to recognize their weaknesses in those areas. As an executive leadership coach I help leaders identify their gaps and coach them to fill those gaps. This book is a guide for recognizing those gaps and provides insights into how to gain the required skills that are lacking. The value of this book is that it breaks the skills down with relatable examples applicable to young adults through the main character named Sam.The challenge with this book is that it would take a very motivated young adult to start and follow through with this journey of self improvement. This is in no way a detriment to this book, it’s a critique on the fact that many adults, including senior executives, never progress in many of these areas. If they did, I wouldn’t have a job!To maximize the value of this book I would recommend:- Self reflection by a young adult with a high drive towards maximizing their potential in life through self-improvement. I’m honestly not sure how many of these exist.- Partnering with a parent that will assist a motivated young adult.- Partnering with a parent and a coach to assist a motivated young adult to maximize their life potential at an early age.As I said, I coach many executives that still have significant room to grow in mastering these skills. Their lives, and careers, would be so much more fulfilling and satisfying had they gained these skills years, if not decades, ago. With the right motivation and coaching, this book will help any young adult to get a significant head start in their journey to maximize their potential in leading a happy, successful and fulfilling life.

It follows Sam’s life to helping him make better decisions on balancing life (work and school)
This book follows Sam as he navigates the challenges of balancing school and work, providing realistic examples of the struggles young people face. It explores often overlooked concepts like decision fatigue—how making too many decisions can be exhausting—and the time traps of social media. The book offers practical techniques to overcome these challenges, such as the Pomodoro Technique and guided meditation. It's an excellent read for high school graduates heading to college. I would recommend omitting the part about stimulation from playing games before giving it to your son, as kids already spend too much time on that.

A Well-Researched and Practical Book!
The author Heidi Bodanis has written an engaging and effective work helping people overcome procrastination and conquer time-management through executive functioning skills. People often procrastinate and stall due to instant gratification. It is important to set aside time each day, including on weekends, when planning for something big or trying to accomplish a major goal. All in all, I believe anyone reading Bodanis’s book will gain much insight and be able to implement these skills in their life. I strongly recommend this read for those who are trying to get a better grasp at prioritizing their time and overcoming procrastination.
