Why I love this book
Something I really like about this book: for some time previous to getting this book I had been exploring the relationship between thought, perception, language, and manifestation. For me, that particular journey started when I began investigating my 'Chiron Wound' and two big huge 'T-Squares' in my natal Astrological chart. But anyhow, it pointed me towards an area in my life where I had been dealing with difficulties and energy blockages in the domain of manifesting a healthy sense of identity, a wound in Aries, which is a wound in the domain that Aries rules - 'Me, Myself, and I', is the Aries domain, which is about having the willpower to give those headbutts when you need to clear the path to go climb that mountain. Anyhow, the relationship between thought, language, perception, and manifestation has been explored in a number of different domains, from the academic side of the spectrum including the fields of linguistics, psychology, neuro-science (neuro-plasticity) as well as others, and also genres occupying other places in the spectrum of thought and literature such as literature and philosophy, and has reached popularity in the domains of self-help, motivational and success literature, new thought, law of attraction, and many people will have encountered the influence and impact of these movements in work training, corporate training, and management seminars dealing with things like the Carnegie methods. In the intro to the book we also see some interesting names mentioned, such as David Bohm, Richard Rudd, Noam Chomsky, Terrence McKenna, Neville Goddard, Buckminster Fuller, J. Krishnamurti, R. Neville Johnston, and G.I. Gurdjieff, so we also see some people who are boundary pushers and even bridging the gap between what many would call occult knowledge and conventional knowledge. So the point is, this is not the first book to deal with this matter of the relationship between language, thought, perception, and manifestation. For me, what makes it stand out is the presentation: It's poppy, fun, punk, cute, quirky, approachable, friendly, and most of all INSPIRING in delivering the message that the timing is ripe for us to empower ourselves, take charge of the new NOW, and start dreamifesting the world we are ready to receive. As Phil Collins sang it, "...can feel it coming in the air tonight...been waiting for this moment, all my life..."

A fully useful, edgy
A fully useful, edgy, and lovable book -- 3 adjectives we rarely find in concert, yes? While reading this warmly accessible exploration of how to "hack" language to upgrade our days and ways, I appreciated the wide swath of tone that characterizes Dani's style, ranging from that of an erudite scholar to a precocious, perceptive teenager with an oh, reallly!-attitude, to a wise elder crone.Within its contents, check out at her deft skewering of the insidious word "but" --who gets finally gets his just treatment at her hands -- And then note fine new additions to our lexicon, such as "disasterbate" (getting off on visualizing crap happening) ...These kinds of gems that expand the experiential field of our vocabulary are strewn generously through the text.Anyone who is aware of language theory, Abraham-Hicks-style manifestation doctrine, the Gurdjieff Work or Neuro-Linguistic Programming( NLP), and particularly the work of Milton Erickson which inspired that field will not necessarily find the principles she offers radically ground-breaking.Nor do they need to be.Her treatment of the art and science of "reframing" is uniquely hers and fresh. Also, it is simple, yet effective. Who doesn't want more of that in a world bludgeoning us with wearying words.?So why only 4 stars, not 5 for The New P. Handbook?5 stars, in my "book", go to Emily Dickinson's Collected Poetry, Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass, Eric Hoffer's The True Believer, Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point, and Life of Pi. Most everyone else will have to wait, even including the charming Ms. Katz.My only critique of the book may be in the actual font choice. The text is so lathered in soft Helvetica Light print, the kind one might find used in bylines for upscale Yoga retreat invitations or spa openings, that my relaxed attention kept wondering literally off the page into space. My eyes were hungering for a little more visual edge to match her verbal punch......and then came her adorable, quirky, and punchy cartoons, one after the other, and all was well with the world. For the price of a weekend of lattes or 10% of your next therapy appointment, buy the book already.

Life Changer!!!
I first heard Dani Katz on a youtube interview and thought her personality was effervescent and i can always use more of that in my life. so I couldn't wait to read her book. I was not very patient when I ordered this. It just couldn't get here fast enough. then the book comes in and I'm thinking "what a joke... it's so small."I was very disappointed in it's size...and then I started reading it. I quickly realized that Dani is writing in a specific and concise way.Word Up is thoughtfully written. I normally, just fly through books, but this one I actually took over a week to read, even though it is not a big book. I would read a section or just a couple of paragraphs and then take some time to absorb it.I love Word Up. I've read similar books on changing your thoughts to change your world. This one is a gem. LOVE IT!!!

How you speak matters....
Your choice of words impact every area of your life including how good you look, your health, and how much money you earn/have... Word Up : Little Languaging Hacks for Big Change gives you clear guidance on word choice. The book is much more than a "stop complaining" or "say nice things" advice book. It describes how word choices matter, and gives specific instructions. Get it.. John R.

This book improved my life!
This book is amazing, an absolute must-read. I find myself putting the hacks into practice often in my daily life, in conversation, emails, texts, even. Happily, I’m no longer apologizing as often as I used to, among other very helpful and empowering tweaks. This is a definite life-improvement book that I’ve recommended to several friends.
