The one-touch is perfect, yes it will immediately start recording from completely off, only takes literally 1 second to be recording from completely off, practically the same as a tape recorder but with the added benefit of organization. The mic is extremely sensitive too, I would say the only downside is the speaker is very small and pretty quiet, but the engineers throttled it as much as they could, you can turn the volume up till it's distorted, at least it's not a weak signal.If you're like me and you need to record ideas very fast very often, you probably are tired of thumbing through your phone, holding it up for the stupid Face ID, starting the voice memo app, and waiting for the recording delay, this thing is perfect. One touch and you're rolling. Doesn't beat the audio quality of your phone, but it's way faster - you can leave your phone in the other room until you want to record a "Nice sketch."

About the best of these types of pocket memo recorders I've found. This one at least has some simple logical controls that follow obvious use. The Chinese knockoffs will frustrate you. The only negative I've found is if you want to briefly pause speaking since it will create a new file each time. I just want to pause for a moment and then resume speaking but this seems impossible so far. Perhaps I've still got to find a method. I'll keep trying.

Point is, I like this enough that this is my third one. The first two went bad because I had so many things on my mind, I put it on the toilet while I showered. Eventually, the water on my hands got into the electronics and messed them up. The only thing I wish is that they would put a lock on the record button. It can easily be triggered unintentionally. I had an RCA decades ago that had that feature and I wish this had it as well. I also purchased a different voice recorder that was really nice and had a "lock", but the lock is... I am not even sure what it is for. That one takes a long time to "power up". This one, you push the button up and it starts recording right away. Downloading to a PC is simple. There are pre-built folders, but the Long-Play folder does a low-quality recording and I strongly recommend against using that. The capacity is sufficiently long that you can record for a long time before needing to download. Just don't take it in the shower and don't use it with wet hands.

The recorder is already broken and I feel that I deserve a replacement!!

I have used a variety of digital recorders, for work, and this has been my favorite. This is a replacement for one I recently lost.Recordings are clear, and it is very reliable.The large start button sets this recorder apart from other recorders, including other OM (Olympus) recorders. When the large switch is moved up you're recording, and when its down you're not. Much more simple that other start/stop buttons.The only downside to this recorder, and its a very minor issue, is that it does not have a USB, or USB-C, "male" connector built into the device. That means you need a Micro USB cord to connect to your PC. Again, that's a very minor issue.Some complain about using regular disposable batteries, instead of having a rechargeable battery. In my experience, you are much better off with traditional batteries. Every recorder I have used with a rechargeable battery could not handle long recordings, and wouldn't hold a charge, even with zero use, for more than 24 to 36 hours. I need to have my recorder ready to use, sometimes after a few days of not using it, and I need to make some long recordings. That means I can't depend on a rechargeable device, and need traditional disposable batteries.

Horrible ! Can't find an important recording I thought I did. Maybe it's in another folder but hey this is not acceptable. I guess you may say it's the operator, we'll that tells you why you were give a bad rating. The system is not friendly operated.don't like it. I'm afraid if I mess with it I will lose the info that Im seatching for if it's there. Uhgggh!
