Days of fun for my kiddos
Got this book from the library and my kids loved it! Came on Amazon to see if I could order them more. Mostly geared towards 7-12 maybe? But my 6 year old loved helping as he could as big sister read through it. Took them a few afternoons to complete so a few days worth of activity (they did like 20 minute chunks)

Math issues aside, its a fun adventure
We have tried several different escape room style books with our 7 year old, and in many respects this has been one of the best- a diverse set of puzzles, a narrative story, a method to help you check your answers more akin to choose your own adventure than a answer page in the back. Largest issue is the complete disregard for order of operations in the math puzzles; some puzzles require you to remember something from earlier but if you forgot to pay attention, the way the puzzles jump around the book males it hard to go backwards; and on a minor note, the ending is quite anticlimactic, no real celebration of making it all the way through the book. But it took a few hours, so overall a fun adventure.

The author doesn't know basic math
Our grandson was delighted with this book he received for Christmas (from his parents). He and I were solving the clues and it was cleverly done until we had some math problems to solve. Order of operations was ignored completely by the author. It did lead to a teaching moment but how many children working through this book would pick up on it? I rate the puzzles as fairly easy for the age EXCEPT for the math issue.

Bad Math
This book was fun and interesting but the math questions use the wrong order of operations and isn’t a tool to use to teach math.
