Excellent condition. Excellent performance.
This laptop offers massive value for money—far superior build quality to the new laptops, even three times the price of this one. It is also still upgradable and will last well into the future. Even if you are not on a budget, buy one of these. The typing experience is second to none. If you are a student, get one of these. If you are anyone needing a laptop for anything other than high-end gaming, then give this a try. I seriously doubt you will be disappointed.

Poor refurbishment – arrived damaged and unusable
Laptop arrived in unacceptable condition for a refurbished product. The plastic bezel around the LCD screen was peeling away on arrival and had to be glued back on just to stop it lifting further. This is basic build quality that should have been checked before sale. The system also contained aggressive third-party software labelled “PC App Store” which locked the screen and attempted to force account creation and payment. The laptop was effectively unusable out of the box. To make the device safe and usable, all partitions had to be deleted and Windows 11 reinstalled manually from official Microsoft installation media. After a clean reinstall the hardware itself works, but a refurbished laptop should not arrive physically damaged or with intrusive software installed. Would not recommend based on the condition and setup on delivery.

Lenovo T490 laptop with Win 11
Used it numerous times now for general use and works well. Windows 11 pro installed. The micro sd card reader does not work correctly as it won't retain the card in the slot. Works if held in place. So far so good. Would buy again despite minor fault, which is easily got round by using a usb adapter.

fantastic value W11 suplied decent keyboard with back lighting been ideal for me surfing some software for learning coding and Power Bi Light weight but not flimsy used mainly in the evenings and weekends works well with my wifi represents great value as a platform for my learning tools

Display spec is not Full HD!
Mixed bag. The display is *not* Full HD (1080p) as advertised, was 720p - text appeared pretty gnarly and is unusable in this day and age. Also, the charging port was loose - I had to wiggle the lead to get it in the right position to charge. Other than that, the computer was cosmetically very good, and I managed to install Debian no problem. I didn't get to see how good battery life was. I certainly would not describe this as "Excellent" refurb condition and the seller should ensure their description matches the specs. Returned.

I've got a serious issue with this refurbished laptop. ( bought in December 2024 ) Waiting to see how it gets resolved Now Feb 2026

Refurbished ThinkPad T490
Arrived this morning. Very good condition. Few scuffs, but that's because of the 'soft' finish. Booted into Windows 11 with zero issues. Good screen, especially compared with earlier 'T' series ThinkPads (all bought through the Amazon 'refurbished' scheme). Once the T490 ran OK I waved cheerio to Microsoft and installed Debian 13.2. Everything running like old-school clockwork. It's early days, but very pleased with the laptop and the prompt delivery. An bargain at £203.
