How the Fox Runs: Book One Paperback – 21 Nov. 2023

Okay, so...So this was an absolutely phenomenal read. I loved everything about this book and more. This book will take you on a super crazy journey into new worlds and realities with some amazing characters and world building, realities that seem like our very own but are actually very different.Our FMC Alise is incredibly strong despite life trying to break her and you are constantly rooting for her at every turn. She is a brilliant FMC who will absolutely not take no for an answer and will stand up for what she believes. Pair this with the grumpiest (and sweetest!) MMC and oh my, what a journey you are in for!We meet Alise after she escapes a criminal asylum where she is being held for a murder, but did she commit it? On her escape she accepts the help of a man, who leads her on a twisty, turny nightmare of a journey into new realms. Real life meets fantasy in such a beautiful way with steampunk/Victorian elements tied together with fantasy and a little dash of romance.I absolutely loved this, and devoured at least 75% of it in one night, I am now unbearably waiting for the second one (I can’t wait!). There is beautiful tension between the characters which I live for and I just can’t wait to see where they end up next! I finished this book with so many unanswered questions…. How the Fox Runs had me intrigued from the prologue and kept me hooked until the very last sentence! This is a beautifully written story, full of twists and turns. It has such a unique plot immersive world building, and just as you think you know where the story is going, it takes you somewhere completely unexpected!The banter between the main character is top tier, and the things the MMC says is just swoon worthy.𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵:• beautiful lyrical prose• characters you will absolutely fall in love with• immersive world building• unique plot• enemies to lovers• forced proximity• slow burn which was perfectionAnd so much more! I cannot recommend this book enough!

I will never stop talking both this book because IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD!! All the settings were utterly magical and the cottagecore mixed with dark academia vibes had me hooked. Catch me melting everything “little fox” was spoken and catch me melting again for the golden-haired hero who spoke the words. Never thought I’d see the day where I fell head over heels with the blonde but he effortlessly made it onto my top tier book boyfriends list with the first few chapters.
