So helpful
I went on my first backpacking trip last week and was nervous about every aspect of the trip. But this bag eased a lot of my worries. I was so easy to carry, very durable, and had so many pockets and straps for comfort and organization! I did not have to test the water resistance of the bag but it has its own rain coat which I was a little sad I didn’t get to try out, but also happy it didn’t rain on my trip. I will say during the seaplane ride when it was in the chute, it did get a little water sprayed on it and nothing got wet. The bag held up even after being tossed around when I was exhausted from hiking.

Adequate for a 2 night hiking in Tahoe
I used this backpack for a 2 night hiking trip to Penner Lake in the Tahoe region. I packed this full from a 4.5 lb tent, 1.75lb sleeping bag, 1.5lb cushion, clothes, water filter, freeze dry food, etc. Overall, it was adequate for the hike. Next time, I think I'd prefer one with better waist support. What I liked:Plenty of capacity at 60l. I was able to pack a small bear canister with the freeze dried food + the tent inside the backpack. It held up well to the elements. We had nice weather so primarily sun exposure. What I would have liked:Better system to distribute weight mostly to the hip. The hip straps seem too small (need bigger) to transfer the weight. It was mostly sitting on my shoulders. The lifter straps didn't do much. We hiked ~ 4miles into Penner Lake and I could feel the backpack.Side pouch for water bottle should be a larger size with cord closure for easier storage. Once I packed the middle of the bag, it was hard to stuff a water bottle onto the side pockets because it was so full. My friend's Gregory Deva had a pouch with a draw string that easily carried the water bottle and could be accessed easier.Provide strap to clip water bottle to for safety along with the pouch. This will make it easier to access a bottle. I also had a camel back but it didn't fit after all the things I packed into the main bag.Overall - for the price, it's not bad. If you're doing < 4 mile overnight hikes, this is adequate. I would prefer one that transfers the weight to the hips better. We did a 13 mile hike and at the end, I was totally exhausted. My shoulders and neck were sore.
