I got this for some retro gaming systems. It lets me use them at a good distance from the TV. I've had no problems. The picture and sound quality are fine. The games themselves aren't 4K quality so I can't really say if these would work well for movies, but I would assume so. I've bought a bunch of Amazon Basics things over the years and haven't had any issues with any of them and the price is usually good.

Bought this to hook up my phone to the TV in my exercise room. It works fine and the price was great. It's resolution is better than my old eyes so I don't need the latest and greatest.

This Amazon Basics HDMI cable is so sturdy and fancy-looking I feel like I should bow before plugging it in. It instantly gave my TV a crisp 4K picture, exposing every pore, wrinkle, and questionable CGI choice. The braided design feels indestructible—pretty sure this thing will survive the apocalypse along with cockroaches and canned beans. Great cable, absurdly heroic vibes.

Whether you want to use HDMI for multi-display(PC and another screen to watch movies 'n' stuff) or simply want to use it with your TV, Apple TV, DVD, Cable box etc., this product is what I'd recommend. I have purchased many HDMI cables($30+ too, breaded, super-thick, gold-plated and other-usual-marketing-gimmicks) and from my experience I suggest you stick with this simple, nicely breaded cable, both HDMI ends are quality metal with no loose connection, the price is right, and it works great. I have tried it on: Apple TV 4th Gen; it WORKS GREAT. Often use it to hook up HDTV to my desktop PC so I can watch Microsoft purchases; great VIDEO & AUDIO QUALITY with no HDCP issues whatsoever. Comes in different SIZES; buy shorter for PC use, and medium if your PC/Laptop is closer to your TV, and longer one for other appliances; remember the shorter the cable the better the connection.
